I know about JustIn.Tv and I know about all the satellite on PC stuff but they are all no good. I want a way to be able to watch all the games as if I am sitting in New York on my TV. I don't want the picture to break up or get crumpled up sometimes. I want the picture to be very sharp and clear. I live in arizona now but I used to Live in New York. You can do this. Xbox 360 is built to be Windows Media Center extender. Meaning you needed windows Media Center version of Windows. (this is more then just the thing that plays music). This is the easy way to do it.
Then you just sink both of these up and it works pretty well. You do only get the basic video formats, but with the latest updates (for xbox 360) you can even play Divx movies. It really came down to if your computer can play it, then it can stream it over to your xbox.

There is a couple of programs that you can download that work in place of Windows Media Center.

This is one I have used before, but haven't reinstalled it on my PC yet. This runs on your PC and acts as a server for your Xbox 360 (it does it with Music too).
As long as you can watch the video on your PC you should be set.
The program isn't that fancy looking, but it does the job for being free.

I may end up getting Vista Home Premium or Ultimate on my PC eventually. However, I know these both have Windows Media Centre in them, and to access this I press the big green button on the remote. However I have a few questions:

1) Does the remote come with Vista when you buy it (I am probably going OEM)

2) How does the remote interact with your PC (IE, does it need an external USB receiver)

3) Are all remotes the same or are they specific to each recevier and inturn each PC?

4) Are there any other special requirements?

5) If I get a TV Tuner card becuase I want to watch live TV on my computer, do I have to connect it to either my satellite dish or the RF socket in the wall which the satellite signal comes out of? If so, is it possible to do this wirelessly, as my Digibox and the signal coming to it are downstairs.

1) It depends on if the OEM provides a remote with the PC. They are also readily available for purchase separately.

2) The remote is picked up from an IR receiver. Usually this is internal, and the OEM will integrate it into the case. Another possibility is, yes, an external USB receiver.

3) The remote doesn't interact with the PC, per se. It interacts with Media Center. The receiver doesn't do anything except tell the computer, "hey I just received a code from a remote, the code is 0x0000". It is the software's job to recognize the keycodes that the remote sends, interpret them, and perform a function based on the keypress.

4) Usually, no. MC-based PCs are sold with the purpose of being all-in-one media solutions, meaning everything you need is included.

5) It depends on where you're getting your signal. If it's from satellite, you need to plug it in to the receiver, just like with a normal TV. However, you need to use the satellite remote to change channels.

Any computer-based TV tuner can change channels on analog broadcast or analog cable only. Digital cable and satellite are sent encrypted, and need special hardware to decrypt this and select channels. This is what your receiver does. No, there are no PC-based alternatives for this, and most likely there will never be.

Cablevision is working on bringing web video to the television. The cable provider plans on offering a new service that would wirelessly deliver web content to subscriber's television's. Dubbed PC to TV Media Relay, the service will wirelessly transmit any video content from a computer to a specific cable channel, another move cable companies hope will bridge the gap between web video and cable TV.As Apple preps for the release of the iPad, Dell is hard at work on a tablet of its own. The Mini 5 is a 5-inch touchscreen device that will run on Google's Android and will reportedly hit stores in the coming months. Unlike the iPad, the Mini 5 features a camera on both the front and back that will allow users to video conference over Wifi or 3G.As the Olympic's begin to wind down, NBC is loosening its grip on streaming the games. Rather than simply broadcast the USA-Switzerland hockey game live on NBC, the company also made the game available online, in real time. The network also removed entry requirements like submitting your cable account number in order to stream the Olympics live, making it inherently easier to watch Hockey online. The only question is, was this just a fluke or will they continue to keep NBC.com open until the end of the games?

When i lived at my old apartment i had direct Tv. I've moved but i cannot get direct tv out here. Is there a way to rig my DVR to play my recorded shows without having the satellite hooked up? or can i transfer them to my PC?

As long as it is a R-15 or higher, you can. Plug it in to the tv and power up. You will get a white screen saying searching for signal. Wait about 10-20 minutes and it will go to a black screen. you can then access your list by hitting the list button. Enjoy!

I travel the country for my job. I am in part of the National Sales and Marketing team for a major Hotel corporation. I was wondering if Satellite for TV on PC software works internationally. If you live in America you will laugh at this. I live in the U.K and we only have 5 TV channels if you don't have freeview box or satellite/cable. Stuck in teh 1980's or what???
Anyway I have windows media centre 2005 with a TV card installed(TV Tuner) If I plug a normal aerial (Antennae) into card I can get 1 channel perfectly which is channel 5. None of the others. Somebody on yahoo answers said I need cable TV?

Do I just need to buy cable TV with a set top box? I have a freeview box.?? Why can I get 1 channel? I have scanned for signals a few times.

I live in America. We get about 7 channels without cable. But I don't know anybody that lives in America without cable/satellite. Living without cable/satellite is history now. But my sister moved to London, and she watches all the current American shows on the internet. She has this website she goes to and she watches everything for free. I will have to ask her what site she goes to.

Cats dont like these things: Double stick tape on thier paws (you could try that on the tv, pc, wires?) , they also dont like plastic bags or any plastic(noise), aluminum foil(noise). Dont yell at them, squirt them with water, hit them please they dont know whats wrong or what they did to deserve it. Hope i could be of some help :]
