Right, I managed get my RCA xbox 360 to S-video, and connect it to my S-video Input TV and done, see 360 in colour and looks ace..
So I did same to PC, image is ace but in Black and White.. I have a PCI tv tuner with S-video input, and a USB Wintv with S-video.. Tried different programs i.e. windows movie maker, movie classic, and Quick TV, and both Tv inputs to my PC = black and white.. I have messed with NTSC, Pal, Secam.. A,B,C,D,E,F.. all still = black and white.. I first though it was my cables, making it black and white, but if it was, then TV would be, But its not, TV is colour, only PC is black and white.. Could this be something with my graphics card? don't see how because i am not using it as an Input.. please help me..

There are two separate problems: a) output of PCs video out and b) Capturing video

In a). TRY PAL and only the window display (disconnect any other inputs). Is that working? If not, it is a video card issue.

In b) Display on the PCs monitor, via VGA. Input video using s-video. Is the input displayed in color?If yes, then input capture is OK. If not, test your source. Does it display in color on the TV directly? Make sure it is NOT copy protected.

my pc (windows xp) is connected to the tv. I've been doing this for quite a while and it worked fine, however, today I turn them on after not using them for a while and it doesn't work. The computer setting is 800x600 like before and the settings are left the same, but for some reason it says "not support" in the tv screen. How do I fix this?
The video card is ATI RADEON XPESS 200M Series

1: Have you verified the card is still working by connecting a monitor to it?

2: If you go into the display properties, do you have any type of clone display function, or a hotkey to press to activate the VGA out mode?

Without knowing what type of video card, computer etc you are running it is hard to give you a solid answer.

I have connected my home PC with my HDTV(PANASONIC VIERA TH-R50EL8) using a HDMI cable.The video is fine but there is no sound in my TV.please help me in this situation

Some manufacturer’s hardware does not support running audio through HDMI cable. To find out if that is true in your case consult your user manual, check manufacturer’s website or contact customer service. If your system does support audio through HDMI all you probably need to do is enable it. Go to your control panel and double click on sound icon. Select HDMI audio source right click and set it as default. In windows XP you will need to go to audio tab and select HDMI audio under sound playback default device.

Alternate solution:

Some computers are not capable of carrying sound over HDMI cable to the TV. You will have to consult your use manual or contact the manufacturer to find out. You will need and alternative way of transmitting sound from your PC to your HDTV. There are few options to consider. I am going to assume that you have 3.5mm female output port on your PC for audio. It looks just like the one on your MP3 player or stereo. Your TV might have the same exact port on the back that is capable of receiving audio. Make sure it is labeled as “audio in” or something similar. For this connection you will need 3.5mm male to male audio cable. This cable will have identical ends on both side one of which gets connected to your TV and the other to your computer. There in on order, so you can plug them in either way. All you need to do if find the right length for your cable.

The second way is almost similar. Some TV’s will not have 3.5mm female jack on the back, but they will have stereo RCA audio input plugs. The plug consists of one red (right channel) and one white (left channel) plug right next to each other. Again make sure that it is audio in for your TV. You will also have to make sure that you are not confusing these plugs for audio in associated with other input on your TV that you are not using, such as AV1, AV2, component,… For this to work all you need a simple gender changer “Y” cable like this one and plug it in all together in same fashion and 3.5mm male to male cable as described in paragraph above.
