Can you watch dvd movies on your computer?

My dvd player is making some strange noises and I can't afford a new one right now and was wondering if all dvd's are playable in your computer.

Well , you can play your dvd discs on your computer , computer can play any video dvd and data dvd , You needn't rip it !
