How can I watch DVD Movies in full screen on my computer?
by admin on Jul.18, 2009, under Uncategorized
I want to watch movies without screeners (Black bars) on the top or side of my screen. I have a 1440 X 900 LCD screen resolution monitor, when I watch movies they always show bars even the full screen ones. Is there a way to make them show the whole image?
You really are actually seeing the whole image. The black bars are there because the movie (as a lot are now) has a wider aspect ratio than your monitor, there is no information there. Your monitor is literally not the same shape as the movie which is narrower - so if it DID fill up the screen then you WOULD lose image. Black bars on the sides happen when the inverse is true. If your monitor is wider than the movie (the movie is "square" as in older TVs) it will have black to the left and right because, again, if it filled up the screen you'll cut off the top and bottom of the picture.

I think if you set it to wide screen that might work x
