How can i watch programs on my DirectTv DVR without a satellite hookup?

When i lived at my old apartment i had direct Tv. I've moved but i cannot get direct tv out here. Is there a way to rig my DVR to play my recorded shows without having the satellite hooked up? or can i transfer them to my PC?
As long as it is a R-15 or higher, you can. Plug it in to the tv and power up. You will get a white screen saying searching for signal. Wait about 10-20 minutes and it will go to a black screen. you can then access your list by hitting the list button. Enjoy!
