How do I import dvd movies into final Cut?
by admin on Nov.27, 2009, under Uncategorized
I want to make a funny dvd as a friend for a present, and I need to inter cut movies with home movies.
You can't edit an AVI file in Final Cut. I use Mactheripper and MPEG streamclip or Handbrake to do the job. Good luck.

Easiest way I would say to do this is to rip the dvd into a video file, using something like HandBrake (http://handbrake.fr/) you can even select specific chapters then import that video into Final Cut
Hope that helps…

You may use Ideal DVD to AVI Converter to convert your DVD to AVI format, then import the ripped AVI file to your final cut to edit. You can fill in the exact time of your dvd to get certain clip, you may also mark the beginning and end of the clip when previewing. In addition, it can support you rip several clips of a dvd at one time.
free download the converter from http://www.idealdvdcopy.com/dvd-to-avi.htm and try by yourself. 10 times free full function trial.
kind prompt, if you find the ripped file only audio, no video, or failed to import to windows movie maker, please download xvid codec from http://www.idealdvdcopy.com/download/XviD113.exe and install it. Then play the ripped file/try to import again and the problem should be solved.
