I have hughsnet (a satellite internet from direct Tv . .. can i get xbox live?

I have tried to get live and i have not been able to. I was wondering if anyone could help.
You should be able to. But you need a wireless adapter for the Xbox, and a wireless router compatible with Xbox to split the connection.. This of course is assuming you want a wireless connection. For a wired connection, you should be able to just plug in an RJ-45 cable directly from the Xbox into the Direct TV box. If there is no outlet for the ethernet cable on the box, i would suggest calling the cable provider, and saying you want internet on a computer. (They get confused when you say Xbox or PS3)
