Satellite Direct=Over 3,500 HD Channels In today’s rocky economic climate, most households are cutting back wherever they can. And with cable and satellite television costing anywhere from $65- $150 a month (more if you count premium movie channels) many people are making their television sets the first part of their homes to get the axe. But what if there was a way to enjoy thousands of television channels, including hard to find international shows and sports programming, and never pay another monthly cable bill again? Welcome to Satellite Direct- the future of television. With no subscription services or monthly bills, no hardware to install, and 24/7 unlimited access, is it any wonder that Internet Media Magazine hailed Satellite Direct as “unequivocally the best TV to PC software on the net”? Don’t be fooled by other so called “Great Deals” on satellite television service for your PC that give you only limited access to channels, or have dozens of hidden fees that end up costing you more than your current cable service.

83 of 86 humans found the following review helpful.
Great for streaming Netflix movies to TV
By Jesse S
I purchased this so I could play streaming Netflix movies through my laptop on my LCD TV. Device worked utterly right out of the box. Here are the connection steps: 1. Connect laptop "VGA out" to device "VGA in" using included cable. 2. Connect device's power cable to USB port of laptop. 3. Connect device to LCD TV using included S-Video cable. 4. Turn on TV and laptop. 5. Use TV remote to select suitable S-Video input port. 6. Set laptop to send video out through VGA. I had it working in when it comes to 10 minutes, playing a streaming Netflix movie through my laptop onto the TV. Picture quality was better than I expected, almost as good as the picture from the cable box. Device comes with a composite video cable also, so you have a choice of either S-Video or composite video (yellow RCA plug) connection to your TV. Overall, I'm very happy with ease of setup and picture quality. (My setup: Compaq Presario CQ60 laptop with Vista, and Westinghouse 26" LCD TV, connected by way of this converter.)

37 of 37 people found the following review helpful.
Great product & price for the need, be conscious this conversion may not be made perfectly
By T. Sessoms
INTRODUCTION:

Heads-up: Most people aren't totally welleducated of this queer boulevard of technology, meaning that contrary to what you might hope or have been told, you can't down-vert VGA to a TV solution without quality loss. Most of the reviews which scathe this product and others, saying the quality sucks, might be true but they're not recognizing the fact it's a limitation of the technology--not the device. Don't review a device poorly for something it can not do.

First thing to recognise is, when converting any video signal into a dissimilar format, it most likely will not be perfect. When downgrading from VGA to Composite (RGB), it's even worse. You need to know this up front and suppose it. Unless you buy specific hardware (for much more), or have specific software which helps down-vert the graphics, it's going to lose sharpness and most times clarity, and at worse the effigy might appear "shifty". Even the special hardware and software won't make it perfect, it merley softens edges for the most part. TV quality composite wasn't designed for the solution capability of VGA, or even today's higher-end video output formats.

Your needs and application may vary. For simple things like watching videos or playing games (which use largely graphics and big fonts, not little text), and sure demonstration applications, this will be perfect. This will not be good if you need to browse the web and still think you'll be competent to effortlessly read little text with clarity.

PROS:

* Price for the features you get - awesome. It works as described, includes everything you need to get going. You shouldn't spend more than this

*  Includes  everything  you  need

* Intuitive/easy to use out of the box, < 2 minute set up time

* Great quality video as expected (read 'introduction' and 'my application' and 'video quality' for more details)

* Excellent for DVD playback/video/games/presentation/GUI interfaces

CONS:

* The sharp/crisp/high-quality stuff you see on a normal computer screen will not be here--because it's not possible to down-vert VGA to Composite without losing the quality. This is not a flaw of the device, it's merely the technology.

* Not good for browsing websites which use lots of text, reading documents, things of that nature--again, this is not the device, it's a limitation of the engineering science itself

MY APPLICATION:

I necessitated this to convert a low-resolution VGA output (640x480 or 800x600) into a Composite feed which could be seen on a 6.5" or 7" LCD with intermediate quality. What this means is, little fonts like 10pt, 12pt, etc, were not expected (or needed), as it was a GUI-driven touch-screen interface using largely graphics and big fonts. For this purpose, the output was perfective for my needs.

I had everything

VIDEO/PICTURE QUALITY:

4 out of 5. (please read the introduction to see more regarding video quality)

The quality is precisely what I expected, so the rating is high. If you suppose this to look as sharp as a projector, you're looking at the wrong item--get a projector. On a medium-sized screen (relative to what I'm applied to), 37-45", most normal text (10-14pt font, unbolded) looks grainy. 12+ size font bolded looks decent. Graphics, ones which aren't intricate and which lack detail, look great. Anything with a large total of detail is going to look off. Imagine attempting to play one of today's high-end games, but through the graphics capacity of a 20 year old gaming system. It plainly won't look right.

But if you're going for simple or big graphics, pictures, video, flash games, solitaire, web-browsing using big fonts and low-resolution, presentations, gui-interfaces, car-computers, and other stuff along those lines, you get the drift. This is perfective for playing a DVD on a computer and porting it to your TV. It's not outstanding for attempting to read a Word document with little font at a high resolution.

Something to note is the high solution input it may take, very awesome. Something to be conscious of, however, is that these high resolutions don't look great on all TV screens. You'll have to try a lot of out to see what works best for your application. I in an unintentional manner put 1600x1200 through it and it rendered even though it said it wouldn't.

PRODUCT QUALITY:

5 out ot 5. It's compact, the device is sturdy, all the ports are firm, not one thing is loose when you plug it in.

INSTRUCTIONS:

3 out of 5. The instructions were adequate but lack a lot of detail. Not that you need a lot of detail, but for numerous it may be helpful. I plainly plugged it up and started toying with it. I didn't read the instructions until I wanted to see an comprehensible statement of all the menu items. The menu layout is very low-tech but functional, reminds me of primary generation VCR's.

INCLUDED CABLES:

5 out of 5. They give you everything you need to get started, including a short composite cable.

NOTES:

* As with a large total of electrical devices, I suggest having all your connections made prior to applying power. So if your computer/tv are already on, connect the VGA and composite cables up first, then plug your USB cable in to provide power. Or, better yet, have everything turned off first, plug everything up, then turn on your equipment.

* Other units which look similar and advertize they do the same, may be capable to do the same, but galore of the ones I reviewed on Amazon and elsewhere all had the same series of bad reviews--mostly hardware failures and defects. This model appears to have good reviews throughout all the websites. Pay the extra $15 for it.

* An $80 unit won't do more quality-wise than this unit will; at best it will have a better menu system, and perchance more overall features, but the quality will be the same. Unless you break the $100+ mark and get a unit which advertises boosted video signal and special firmware/software to support make fonts/edges/contrast look better, it's not worth the extra money.

* What you suppose in quality of picture versus what you get, will differ equated to an individual else's expectations.

* You may see a split-second flicker of the RGB bars when everything powers up the original time, but without delay following ought to be your VGA. This is normal, RGB bars indicate there's a composite signal but there's no video or picture to render. If the RGB bars stay "on" with your computer connected, make sure you are using the right input solution (I suggest dropping to 640x480 and then move up from there). If the RGB bars are always "on" and your computer isn't connected, this might indicate a problem with the unit or it might be "normal" depending on how your TV renders composite signals (some will display RGB bars to let you know it has a composite connection but no input).

* Menu layout is "simple" and low-tech, but it does provide you with the features you need to make sure the effigy fits on screen just right.

* I didn't check to see if it loses it is settings (which you may modify through the menu) after power-off because it doesn't affect my use of the product.

* Some systems, normally laptops, may not without delay render the video to the screen. Try making sure your composite cable is hooked up to the TV, your VGA cable is hooked up to the laptop, and then turning the laptop on. Also try it the other way around, have the laptop on and then connect everything. Also undertake powering the device after the connections are made, or before, whichever works. This is due to how some electrical signals "latch" in varying computers (usually laptops with the selectable VGA/LCD options). Never had the issue with a desktop or committed VGA-out.

* Something to note is the high solution input it may take, very awesome. Something to be conscious of, however, is that these high resolutions don't look outstanding on all TV screens. You'll have to undertake a heap of out to see what works best for your application. I without advance planning put 1600x1200 through it and it rendered even altho it said it wouldn't.

The picture is amazing. I think the picture on my tv looks better than the picture on my pc monitor (which is digital from an HDMI source). I'm running the converter from the analog source on my pc then s-video to the tv which plugs into my Video 1 input. It does not go to the monitor. I just got a black screen on the tv until I went into the NVidia properties and set up the tv as a clone and had to play with the PAL/NTSC switches to make the picture look right.
I am very happy with this product. I expected to get something that worked but didn't look so great and I was reasonably shocked at how nice it looks.

What is Satellite TV for PC and does it actually work is a question I see a lot online. Both are splendid questions that is worthy of honorable answers so people may be educated regarding the product and determine if it meets their needs.

Satellite TV for PC is a software application that was produced over 7 years ago to develop a user friendly program to access legally thousands of television channels broadcasted online so users may watch on their computer with no per month fees.

As technology advances and bandwidth becomes for less such as DSL, Cable and Fiber humans are now competent to have very high speed Internet access into their homes for a fraction of the cost various years ago. This opens up the doors to being competent to do so much online such as watch full motion video over the Internet.

Many broadcast companies and independent channels see the probabilities of broadcasting live channels online resulting in a new wave of amusement available to humans with Internet access. Today there are thousands of television channels online from major networks to local public channels. Being competent to search the Internet and find all these channels would consume a huge amount of time and candidly just be a huge pain in the butt.

This is where Satellite PC services in truth help. These services categorize television channels by country. You may also do a search if you recognise the channel you are looking for. This is very helpful and makes locating channels a breeze.

You may be thinking this all sounds great but does it actually work? Yes it does but don't suppose HD quality. I see numerous advertisements comparing Satellite TV for PC services to regular cable TV. I personally am not going to give up my DirecTV rather yet but it genuinely works well to catch a sporting event or show that your local cable company does not carry.

I personally use Satellite TV for PC services to watch breaking news and soccer games while at work. No I am not watching TV all day but I do like to watch for the duration of lunch or breaks to catch local news or sports highlights off ESPN. It will work great for this summer's 2008 Olympics.

So to answer your question yes it works. You genuinely do get access to around 3000 channels. Is the quality as good as HD - no but some channels are very close. If you are looking for a way to catch sporting events, TV shows and news online then I would say this product is for you. If you are looking to replace your current satellite or cable provider this is not the way to go. The bottom line is for just $49 you get access to thousands of television channels and never have to compensate any further and added fees ever making it an magnificent product for many.

You don't want to buy an illegal pc TV software package online-it could be an illegal version. With so a great deal of phony softwares online chances are whatsoever you will buy is either illegal or straightout scam. Most of these packages don't work well, have poor quality or are in alien languages. You may tell the phony satellite TV on pc downloads by checking for a lot of simple features that are available only with the best in the market.

The cost of satellite TV to pc software online shouldn't be very high. Usually this cost is for the membership which would entitle you to free annual upgrades. The membership will have to enable you to access more further and added programming and any improvements on quality of picture and sound streams.

On intermediate these pc satellite TV softwares ought to not exceed $70. I recognise galore good packages that go for less than $50 even. One way to tell a scam is if they are asking for hundreds of dollars for the set up fee.

There are even other scam pc TV softwares that will ask you to compensate regularly every month fees to access their service. These are plainly out to milk as much cash out of you for a service which is other than as supposed or expected free of charge. Online television is ordinarily offered as free to air and as such is... well, free.

Most of the pc satellite television softwares have an easy to use program that enables you to effortlessly browse from one country television stations to the next. The channels are arranged in a logical manner such that each country is listed and the available television stations consequently shown. These are hot links which without delay link you to the parent TV station in seconds.

The best of the best satellite pc TV software will ordinarily offer you a 30 day trial amount of time where you are guaranteed to get your full refund if you don't like what you see.

The railroad's got to run through the town of Rock Ridge. How do you drive out the townfolk in order to steal their land? Send in the toughest gang you've got...and name a new sheriff who'll last regarding 24 hours. But that's not in truth the plot of Blazing Saddles, just the pretext. Once Mel Brooks' lunatic film a good deal of call his best gets started, logic is lost in a blizzard of gags, jokes, quips, puns, howlers, growlers and outrageous assaults upon good taste or any taste at all. Cleavon Little as the new lawman, Gene Wilder as the wacko Waco Kid, Brooks himself as a dim-witted politico and Madeline Kahn in her Marlene Dietrich send-up that earned an Academy Award nomination all give this sagebrush saga their lunatic best. And when Blazing Saddles can't comprise itself at the finale, it just proves the Old West will never be the same!

Beusch
Blazing Saddles is one of the great comedies of all time. Unfortunately, it's likely that no major studio today would release it. South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut, Something About Mary and American Pie (all hilarious movies which I would highly recommend, by the way) incorporate toilet humor that makes Mel Brooks at his most graphic seem like a Disney movie in comparison. However, today's politically rectify Hollywood would be horrified with a comedy that uses racial epithets left and right, worrying with regards to the backlash that subject matter would cause.

This is too bad because Blazing Saddles shows that such language, given the right context, may genuinely combat bigotry by showing how stupid it in truth is. Cleavon Little, as Sheriff Bart, and Gene Wilder, as The Waco Kid, are staged as islands of sanity in a sea of ignorant, racist townspeople. The 'n' word is thrown out repeatedly, but is intended as an insult to the persons who say it rather than a slur versus blacks. Mel Brooks, a very liberal Democrat, recognized that racism is offensive and nasty in nature and showed it in it is unfeigned light in Blazing Saddles. As a result, the film does more to ridicule racism and bigotry than most severe "message films" on the same subject ever could.

Unfortunately, the corporate suits who now run the big studios are more worried with regards to effigy and profits than constructing quality movies. As long as a film offends as few people as possible and appeals to as numerous members of the ordinary public as possible (preferably amongst the ages of 18 and 35), the executives like it -- even if the film has no originality or artistic merit at all. As a result, films like Blazing Saddles and TV shows like All in the Family are taboo these days. Hollywood has lost a lot of daring and courage since 1974. See Blazing Saddles and you will realize just how much.

75 of 85 humans found the following review helpful.
"My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets..."
By M. Hart
"...of thought cascading into a waterfall of originative alternatives." Thus spoke Hedley Lamarr (Harvey Korman), the State Procurer, Attorney General and Assistant to the Governor as he plotted versus the residents of Rock Ridge in Mel Brooks' hilarious western spoof "Blazing Saddles", which was primary freed to theaters in 1974. With the meager budget of only $2.6-million, the film grossed over $119.5-million, making it the most eminent grossing western of all time until the release of "Dances with Wolves" in 1990, which grossed over $184-million. The success of "Blazing Saddles" is attributable in huge part to the superb direction and writing (in conjunction with various other writers) of Mel Brooks, who (of course) likewise acted in the film in three distinguished roles: as Gov. William J. LePetomaine, an Indian chief and a World War I aviator. Equally primary are the some very gifted comedic actors who brought the film to life.

The plot of "Blazing Saddles", as I eluded to in my review opening, takes place mainly in the fictional old-west town of Rock Ridge, whose residents seemingly all have the same last name and who have been mercilessly besieged by a group of thugs who are lead by a man named Taggart (Slim Pickens, 1919-1983). After the thugs kill the sheriff of Rock Ridge, the residents send an urgent plea to Gov. LePetomaine to without delay appoint a new sheriff. Gov. LePetomaine delegates the appointment to his assistant Hedley Lamarr, whose nefarious mystery agenda is the destruction of Rock Ridge to make way for a new railroad line. Lamarr devises what he believes will be the final, unconscionable inducement to the residents of Rock Ridge for them to vacate: the appointment of a black sheriff, Black Bart (Cleavon Little, 1939-1992). Most of the residents of Rock Ridge are aghast when Sheriff Bart rides into town. However, he speedily acquires a sidekick in Jim 'The Waco Kid' (Gene Wilder) and a lot of unsolicited attentions from the to a great extent accented visiting stage performer Lili Von Shtupp (Madeline Kahn, 1942-1999), whose passions include the consumption of schnitzengruben. The story proceeds to entertain as it builds to a climax that only the twisted comedic talent of Mel Brooks could devise. Also, in classic Mel Brooks fashion, the film includes various musical interludes that include the film's title song (sung by Frankie Laine), "The Ballad of Rock Ridge", "I'm Tired" (sung by Madeline Kahn), "The French Mistake" and "April in Paris". Other unforgettable characters include Olson Johnson (David Huddleston), Rev. Johnson (Liam Dunn, 1916-1976), Mongo (Alex Karras in his firstborn big-screen role), Howard Johnson (John Hillerman), Van Johnson (George Furth), Gabby Johnson (Jack Starrett, 1936-1989), Harriett Johnson (Carol DeLuise, a.k.a. Carol Arthur), Dr. Sam Johnson (Richard Collier, 1919-2000), Buddy Bizarre (Dom DeLuise) and a cameo by Count Basie (1904-1984). There were likewise assorted brief uncredited appearances by Anne Bancroft, Gilda Radner (1946-1989) and Rodney Allen Rippy who played Bart at age 5.

Overall, I rate "Blazing Saddles" with a resounding 5 out of 5 stars. It is a hysterically amusive film that I may highly commend to everyone. Though none of Mel Brooks' other films were as financially successful as "Blazing Saddles", a lot of are noteworthy of mention, including "The Producers" (1968), "Young Frankenstein" (1974), "High Anxiety" (1978), "The History of the World, Part 1" (1981) and "Spaceballs" (1987).

Knox
It is one of those comedies that you either like or hate. I liked it, I think that too a good deal of people take themselves so seriously. Blazing saddles gives a relief to that narrow type of outlook. I think that if you just receive it as a comedy, and don't try to make it more than it is. It's a comedy, and plain and simple a very good one. It a parody on everything that people look for to take an issue on. Lighten up ,and just enjoy.

How to download satellite TV on your pc: there are various ways that one may watch pc satellite TV online. One of the most standard is the use of pc TV software package offered at best price by online television sites. These packages offer more than 1000 channels from around the world free to air stations.

The best way to download online satellite TV to a pc is to get a authenti software package. Most will offer you more than a thousand internet channels while others even have more than 3000 stations.

You will without apparent effort get a choice of channels from more than 50 countries and in 70 dissimilar languages. The best software will have to have a good remainder of channels so that your choice is wide enough.

Some of the packages will enable you to download a lot of rare and uncensored TV programs, shows, series, and movies. One of the top rating packages has been known to offer live sports TV online, uttermost sports, news channels amusive movies and classic old movies.

The pricing for these packages would never exceed $80. Infact most of the one I have researched on charge you a onetime payment ranging from $40-$70. This entitles you to a lifetime membership with free upgrades each year.

The cost of this membership will have to done be salaried once and you may want to stay clear from those packages that insist on regularly every month subscriptions. Internet TV downloads is a free service and must never have a recurrent cost.

You will need to check your computer for sure minimal requirements inorder to download satellite TV on your pc. Most packages will require a pc with a CPU processor speed of 300mhz and virtual memory of 520Mb. The processor must be a Pentium 3 or 4 and Windows software of WIN2000 and above is fine. You without apparent effort download internet TV with a normal DSL phone service line but a high speed broadband line offers even better quality.

How may I watch TV on computer: most folks want to know how they may download live TV over the internet on their pc. You may do get easy satellite downloads for pc TV online using a software that offers more than 3000 channels. It is a particular internet TV tuner package that converts your pc into a super TV monitor that broadcasts free to air TV streams from throughout the world.

One of the most distinct calibers of a dependable pc TV package is the number of channels they offer. While there are those that assert to have 10000 stations, the best that I have observed to deliver are those within the 2000 -3000 channels range. Atleast at this level the websites are still capable to maintain good quality and remainder of stations and shows.

Good satellite live TV downloads for pc have made crusade to maintain a remainder amidst these channels. You will find significant number of English TV channels as well as alien language stations.

Downloading a live TV to pc package is commonly an easy and fast process. They for the most part come in digital files which are easy to download to a laptop or pc. This means that you no longer have to wait on the mail to arrive with your 4-5 program CDs.

The programming offered by the satellite live TV packages include some rare and bizarre programs as well as the local mainstream TV channels like FOX, BS, NBC and others. The shows may include sports live, hunting programs, educational, scientific and full length funny movies.

Online satellite television download packages must be competent to offer you a list of their requirements for your pc or laptop. Most of the requisites are already installed in your computer and this need be a cause of worry.

You need a speed of 300 MHz on your pc. The virtual RAM memory must intermediate 520mb, the processor needs to be atleast a p3 and windows 2000 and later versions are recommended. A high speed internet connection works though a normal DSL phone service likewise works great.

Most helpful client reviews

39 of 40 humans found the following review helpful.
Great gift for the music fan...RIFFS!!
By Quiet Summer
This is a review for the blu-ray 2 disc set. On the primary disc you get Anthrax, followed by Megadeth and then Slayer's set. On the second disc you get the Metallica set and the bonus features. I will break down the setlists at the bottom of the review.

First the sound is astounding in my opinion, as is the picture. I thought the overall mix on all four sets was actually good. I've read the one review when it comes to Mustaine's vocals, I didn't detect it, so can't in truth comment on whether it has or hasn't been remixed. It wasn't a concern for me personally.
The bonus features include a behind the sccenes documentary which includes consultations and a peak at the Am I Evil? rehearsal backstage which is just good fun. I like back stage stuff and consultations so I dig that extra feature.

So for the bulk features of this "product" I give it five stars, good picture, good sound, bonus features are nice added touch. I couldnt in truth find a reason to deduct any stars based on the product. The camera shots are typical concert fodder, close stage center, back stage left, over the crowd, close up drifting over crowd and behind the band looks. I be grateful for the conventional camera shots, I am not genuinely a fan of the waving, roving camera proficiencies where you flashy, quick looks and can't follow anything. I like to get long shots of the guitar when there are solos etc. So , I was happy with the way this was shot.

Now for my personal opinions. I was very happy with the setlists for Megadeth and Metallica. Megadeth didn't waste time chatting, they went from song to song and genuinely delivered. I've seen Megadeth live a great deal of times and they are always incredible, this is no exception, what genuinely got me going for the Megadeth set was the guitar, those riffs are just so amazing, and Chris Broderick is an aweinspiring addition to this lineup. His live performances with Nevermore were amazing and when he joined Megadeth I wondered if it would be sufficient for a guitarist of his caliber. Clearly it is, he is having a blast.

I was unhappy with Slayer's setlist. I have seen Slayer live and they are genuinely worth seeing. Songs like World Painted Blood, Jihad, Hate Worldwide, Beauty Through Order would have been better substituted with Dead Skin Mask (I can't believe they didn't play this one), Expendable Youth, Die by the Sword. Too bad, but again, this is just my preference. I genuinely commend the double live CD Decade of Aggression. It's an amazing set of songs.

Metallica setlist mirrors their former blu-ray release. I think it's a solid set of songs and they sounded very good, the mix is great. This is when you see all the guys coming together and carry out together and that is alot of fun. I've seen Metallica live each tour since 1986 and I may say this past tour has had some outstanding setlists. I could have done without N.E.M., but hey the crowd loved it. If you have any questions I'll undertake to answer them.

((***Side ponder*** I wondered who decisive what order the bands ought to carry out in? I found it curious to have Megadeth carry out before Slayer as they are more widely known.))

If you dig all four, or one or two of these bands, this is worth owning and was alot of fun to watch.

Anthrax
Caught in a Mosh
Got the Time
Madhouse
Be All, End All
Antisocial
Indians/Heaven and Hell
Medusa
Only
Metal Thrashing Mad
I Am The Law

Megadeth
Holy Wars
Hangar 18
Wake Up Dead
Head Crusher
In My Darkest Hour
Skin O My Teeth
A Tout Le Monde
Hook in Mouth
Trust
Sweating Bullets
Symphony of Destruction
Peace Sells/Holy Wars Reprise

Slayer
World Painted Blood
Jihad
War Ensemble
Hate Worldwide
Seasons in the Abyss
Angel of Death
Beauty Through Order
Disciple
Mandatory Suicide
Chemical Warfare
South of Heaven
Raining Blood

Metallica
Creeping Death
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Fuel
Harvester of Sorrow
Fade to Black
That Was Just Your Life
Cyanide
Sad But True
Welcome Home
All Nightmare Long
One
Master of Puppets
Blackened
Nothing Else Matters
Enter Sandman
Am I Evil?
Hit the Lights
Seek and Destroy

While it's true that the bands all show their age a bit, there are sufficient highlights here to commend a purchase. The video is a bit soft, but acceptable. Sound quality is great. As for the performances:

Anthrax puts on a good show and vocalist Joey Belladonna acquits himself well, still managing to bust out a couple of air raid screams. Since it's Joey singing, the set is naturally heavy on the group's early albums. But a real surprise is when they play "Only" from their Sound of White Noise album; I was under the impression that Joey wouldn't sing any stuff from the John Bush era, but here it is. Plus there's a nice homage to the lately departed Ronnie James Dio when they abruptly break into Sabbath's "Heaven and Hell" in the middle of "Indians."

Megadeth's set is tight, focusing on older tunes. I suspect that other remarks here in regards to vocal overdubs are correct; there are times when Dave Mustaine's mouth hardly moves and yet his vocals are piercing and clear. But musically, they're the spotlight of the show. After observing the band shuffle through assorted guitarists after Marty Friedman left, Chris Broderick is a godsend - technically proficient but without doubt or question having fun on stage, a outstanding counterpoint to Mustaine's quintessentially gloomy stage presence. And estranged bassist Dave Ellefson's back! Honestly, the band line-up in this concert is the best since the Friedman/Menza era and I hope it sticks together for a long time.

Slayer's set is... serviceable. Time hasn't been kind to them, and neither have all the twinkies and big macs they've distinctly consumed. Tom Araya doesn't even try to hit the scream that opens "Angel of Death" - for that matter, he doesn't bother with half the vocals on various songs - and Kerry King looks winded after two songs. Thankfully, drummer Dave Lombardi hasn't lost a beat and he skillfully saves the set from being forgettable.

Finally, there's Metallica, and their set is a mixed bag. Thankfully, they ignore most of the Load/ReLoad/St. Anger era, playing lots of early tunes and a few from Death Magnetic. They sound outstanding on the newer songs but honestly, they sound a bit tired and sloppy as they rush through numerous of the older stuff (with the noteworthy exception of "Blackened", which they nail dead-on). It's still a decent set, but James Hetfield's increasing thin voice and recurring difficulties with the mics on Lars Ulrich's drum kit keep it from being a great one.

Overall, it's still a great concert for us older thrashers to reminisce to and introduce a new generation to the genre. No life 'til leather!

Kramer
well, as an old school headbanger, this is amazing. anthrax hits the place like a gang, megadeth plays in and out of the rain, slayer ought to not be seen in daylight, and metallica destroys bulgarias power grid. for me the high-point is megadeth's rainy original few numbers, they just stand and deliver, and sound great. a few of these bands have lost my interest over the last few years, but i will tell you, after this show i recognise precisely why i followed these guys in the introductory place. actually glad they filmed it.
more plz.
