Online Satellite Maps

Do you know it is now possible to watch free online satellite tv? With the progression of the internet, it has become possible to watch satellite tv on your pc.

Compared with a regular satellite tv scheme where you need to remunerate hundreds of dollars per month for a dozen or so channels, online satellite tv allows you to watch thousands of satellite tv channels at no cost.

You do not need to buy any hardware elements in order to watch free online satellite tv. All you need is a broadband connection and a computer.

By downloading a piece of software, you may without apparent effort watch thousands of satellite tv channels. The software is a one time fee and there is no per month charges.

Watching Free Satellite TV online is made possible because of the internet. It provides a easy way to stream video to humans all over the world. The way it works is it converts the satellite tv feed into digital signals and stored on the servers. The servers are connected to the internet and available for video streaming by any individual who has the software.

Now before you rush out to buy this software, you need to make sure you have a broadband connection either cable or DSL since video streaming requires high bandwidth particularly if you want high effigy quality.

You also need to make sure your computer is up to scratch. Though the minimum requisites are rather low, you need at least a Pentium III with a decent video card and at least 256 or more RAM in order to play the streaming video properly.

If you wish to play the online satellite tv on your computer. You will need a video card with at least an s-video output which you may then connect to your television's video port.

I highly commend anybody who wants to watch free online satellite tv to try out this software.

5Fantastic Deal!!!
By B. Roberts
I ordered the Map Library along with my PN-40 unit. This map library was one of the deal-makers that led to my buying the DeLorme GPSr. I principally use the aerial images and the 1:24k topo quads. The color images for my area look to have been taken a couple of years ago, while the b&w's look regarding 6-7 years old. This will vary by geographic area. You may layer the maps in any order, and view hybrids with the Topo 7 info over the aerial (or whichever view you choose).

This annual subscription is just an unbelievable deal. The downloads I've made already would cost hundreds (going on thousands) of dollars if I purchased the maps individually.

5The best value in mapping software, bar none!
By C. Nickel
I have employed DeLorme TopoUSA merchandise for going on a decade now, so I have a large total of experience with it from it's earlier days as a pioneering product in the buyer digital mapping field. Once I "got the hang of it", it's been an primary tool in the backcountry. Hook a GPS to the laptop, load up the DeLorme mapping software, and you get a dot on the map at the precise emplacement you are at. During my backcountry adventures, I've found jeep trails using DeLorme mapping software that I couldn't even see on the ground due to terrain conditions, nighttime, etc. The added gain of handheld mapping GPS units from DeLorme has only made their mapping merchandise even more useful. Maps downloaded through this subscription may likewise be downloaded into DeLorme's handheld gps units.

This subscription to the DeLorme download service for added 7.5 minute USGA topo maps, charts, aerial, and satellite photography has been a wondrous addition to the product. I've been using it since around March, 2009. I have two dissimilar laptops, a Gateway that's probably three years old, and an Acer that is going on two years old. Neither model is considered "top of the line" as far as speed goes. However, I've never had a problem downloading any maps into DeLorme 7.0 on either computer. The download speeds have been outstanding through our DSL service and wireless home network. While I agree with a great deal of other reviewers that it would be nice to be capable to download more prominent single files, I have never had a problem plainly creating more files and downloading them back to back, which is done mechanically once the maps are selected. I plainly choose the maps, aerial, or satellite photography I want, let the software formulate the files, submit the order three or four files at a time, and many times the introductory maps are ready to download before I'm done choosing the last maps for my map download session. After that, it's all automatic. I have not experienced, on either of my computers, the types of troubles others have had, so I may only suggest that the cause of their difficulties might be more due to their queer network issues rather than troubles with the software itself. What's more, I've learned that one may likewise copy map files from one computer to another, therefore I only need to download the maps one time to one computer, then I may transfer them effortlessly to the other computer as well. Additionally, when one of my computers "crashed" and necessitated to be restored, I had to have the keycode reactivated on that computer through DeLorme's client service line, which was handled by DeLorme's UNITED STATES BASED SUPPORT PEOPLE in mere minutes.

Since I likewise own mapping merchandise from both Garmin and National Geographic, and Wildflower before them, I may attest to the fact that all of them have a proprietary user interfaces which require galore getting applied to. None of them may be considered "standard". There are a few features in each of the other productions I like, a good deal of person features even better than DeLorme. However, I always seem to come back to DeLorme for overall ease of use, available features in one package, and for the value received for my dollar expended in added maps and photography. I may attest to the fact that if one were to buy from other venders the volume of maps and photography equivalent to what is available for around $30 a year through the DeLorme subscription, one would in truth pay a heap of hundreds, if not well over a thousand dollars.

When one likewise includes the potential for altered maps and photography through the DeLorme download service over time, it makes this subscription an unbelievable value that I have not been capable to even come close to duplicating anywhere, and believe me, I look for the best deals I may find.

I have not been in the least bit disappointed, and I will most unquestionably renew this subscription.

2is not what it pretends to be
By wolfgang
A outstanding idea: limitless download of USGS Topo Qads, NOAA nautical charts, aerial imagery. And everything will be visible on the computer screen as well as on the handheld GPS unit. The problem is: Delorme makes each effort to prevent the valued client from downloading their cherished data. The selection routine of maps to download is slow and tedious through their "flagship" software "TopUSA 8". Once after dozends of clicks the greatest or most complete or best possible download size of when it comes to 50 MB is chosen (corresponding to a 1000sqm area), one has to wait 20 minutes for an email with a download link to arrive. The download itself is painstakingly slow and crashes half of the time (this does not have to do with my connection speed). So be prepared to spend days and days clicking through menues and waiting and discouraging and hindering if you want to get a lot of of your money's worth on this product...

The DB4 has become our most popular model because it is plainly the best Mid Range HDTV antenna on the market. With an approximate 13.7 dB gain, it is one of the firmest multi-directional antennas available and performs systematically all over the entire UHF spectrum. It even works well in areas where HD transmitters are in multiple directions.

5Do your research
By Matthew M. North
I actually believe that anybody giving this a negative or low review of this product never troubled to find out what type of antenna they necessitated for their specific location. There is a web internet site formulated quintessentially for this intention [..]. I followed the instructions on the site, ordered the suitable antenna, aimed my antenna in the direction suggested, and low and behold I'm at a 98 signal strength (out of 100). Great success with this product.

5Best antenna on the market for digital reception
By JWalter
The DB4 was the firmest antenna I have tried. It is also the only one that receives each digital station at closely 40 miles from the Kansas City stations, (and my signal meter pegged.) I was even competent to pick up a few out of area stations I was not expecting. The build quality is better than anything else I have seen.

3Not that bad
By The Three Woods
Our home is located down in a valley where it is out of the question to get any local stations in - amount of time - so please bare that in mind as you read our review. Usually, homes around us have either digital cable or satellite service. We have found the multi directional HDTV antenna does pick up stations distinctly for the most part. However, for reasons we can't figure out at this time the signals come and go each so often - even on cloudless days. But, you get what you compensate for. We are happy to be free of the cable bill of $65 a month for very basic cable or the foolish service we had with a horrid satellite company who robbed us blind with poor quality service. Thankfully, we have netflix when the antenna can't pick up the stations. We would, however, commend buy of this mutli directional HDTV antenna. We've tried others in the past and have gotten no signal whatsoever - so this is a great improvement. We would estimate a clear signal/sharp picture 90% of the time. I'm sure in time we'll figure out how to keep the sharp picture uninterrupted - save for the duration of bad storms when signals are expected to be lost.

Satellite Direct Software

by on May.26, 2011, under Uncategorized

What is Satellite TV for PC and does it actually work is a question I see a lot online. Both are splendid questions that is worthy of honorable answers so people may be educated regarding the product and determine if it meets their needs.

Satellite TV for PC is a software application that was produced over 7 years ago to develop a user friendly program to access legally thousands of television channels broadcasted online so users may watch on their computer with no per month fees.

As technology advances and bandwidth becomes for less such as DSL, Cable and Fiber humans are now competent to have very high speed Internet access into their homes for a fraction of the cost various years ago. This opens up the doors to being competent to do so much online such as watch full motion video over the Internet.

Many broadcast companies and independent channels see the probabilities of broadcasting live channels online resulting in a new wave of amusement available to humans with Internet access. Today there are thousands of television channels online from major networks to local public channels. Being competent to search the Internet and find all these channels would consume a huge amount of time and candidly just be a huge pain in the butt.

This is where Satellite PC services in truth help. These services categorize television channels by country. You may also do a search if you recognise the channel you are looking for. This is very helpful and makes locating channels a breeze.

You may be thinking this all sounds great but does it actually work? Yes it does but don't suppose HD quality. I see numerous advertisements comparing Satellite TV for PC services to regular cable TV. I personally am not going to give up my DirecTV rather yet but it genuinely works well to catch a sporting event or show that your local cable company does not carry.

I personally use Satellite TV for PC services to watch breaking news and soccer games while at work. No I am not watching TV all day but I do like to watch for the duration of lunch or breaks to catch local news or sports highlights off ESPN. It will work great for this summer's 2008 Olympics.

So to answer your question yes it works. You genuinely do get access to around 3000 channels. Is the quality as good as HD - no but some channels are very close. If you are looking for a way to catch sporting events, TV shows and news online then I would say this product is for you. If you are looking to replace your current satellite or cable provider this is not the way to go. The bottom line is for just $49 you get access to thousands of television channels and never have to compensate any further and added fees ever making it an magnificent product for many.

As far as I was capable to tell, the firmware/driver required to program this product for a queer head end is not compatible with Windows 7 (64 bit). The programming _tool_ downloaded and installed just fine, but the hardware itself was not recognized when plugged into a USB port.

No idea how this works once it's installed, but I couldn't get past step one with the operating scheme I'm using.

5Clarion WH204 IR Headphones
By Derick
THIS PRODUCT WORKS EXCELLENT, NICE BUY. Even altho these were a little more cash then what I wanted to spend it was well worth the money. I recieved them plugged to AAA bateries and sat in front of the newly installed Tview roof mounted DVD player in my van and this works, no set up and simple for the kids to operate. My only concern is the volume control I don't have control of this, the kids do, just worried they may injure their ears. Took the kiddies for a trip no fighting and I could listen whatsoever I wanted to on the radio.

While these Clarion IR headphones are made for use in an automobile, they work evenly as well in the home when used with a simple IR transmitter, and the sound is very clear with no hissing or distortion. They are made to applied on two channels and channel A works fine in the home. I use an IR transmitter that I purchased from Koss and their transmitters are by far the best. For the cash paid, these headphones can't be beat!

It will have to not come as a surprise to those fascinated to watch satellite TV on computers that there are already millions doing so. Billions of video streams are watched each single day and humans are getting used to watching amusement media using their PCs online. Basically, the easiest way around it is to power up your computer with a special satellite TV software. We will find out more in this article with regards to this distinctive software that may enable you to watch satellite TV on computer through the internet and how it compares with the services you are using today.

The software may be downloaded from merchants who sells goods at retail online and installed quickly. There are clear instruction manuals that take you through a step-by-step approach. Even the most technically challenged may install software in a few steps. The usage is simple since the navigation is user-friendly. Once you are done with the installation, you may instantaneously check out the TV channels they offer and find the desired TV program you may watch.

If you have been a satellite TV subscriber for the longest time, you would be glad that there are no on a monthly basis costs involved at all. The only cost ever is the one time payment for the software which works out to less than $50 for most software versions and brands. When new programs are added, you also need not top up or remunerate anything extra. These are all included in the software package.

Since the software is receiving free to air TV feeds from FTA TV stations, the TV channels you may watch on computer are altogether free. A quick comparison amid satellite and cable TV versus PC satellite TV would disclose that you are catching perhaps 700 channels at max with the regularly every month services but getting access to over 2000 TV channels with the software. This is the one main reason why persons love to use the PC satellite TV software.

Other than the software, you do not need extra instrumentation or hardware, just a good internet connection will do, be it broadband or dial up. Ideally, you will have to use broadband for more immediate speeds of TV feed transmission. You also need to have Macromedia Flash and Windows Media Player installed before you may watch satellite TV on computer.

The software has an intellectual user interface that makes it a breeze to use to search and find TV shows to watch. Once you watched it, click to save the TV channel so that you may come back another day to watch. The whole procedure is as hassle-free as it may get.

Looking at the software side by side with on a monthly basis TV services, it outshines services in terms of affordability, the number of TV channels available and the userability. This probably is the reason why more TV viewers, particularly the younger folks now watch TV in this way. Learn more when it comes to this new engineering and how you may make use of PC satellite TV software to watch satellite TV on computer at home from my TV blog.

4The charger is actually better than the firstborn charger except for one thing...
By Daniel Hou
The substitute charger arrived speedily but I never deduct stars if the product arrives late as long as it arrives in one piece which it did.

The reason I necessitated another charger was because my wire in my basi Toshiba Charger had come open and genuinely set numerous sparks off and burned itself for the duration of spanish class one day.

1. The jack is L shaped.

2. The power supply share of the this charger is lighter than my initial one by at least 1/3. I think this is actually a good thing just for the lighter bulk to carry with me.

3. The power supply does not get very hot at all equated to my original charger which would at least get to 100 degrees plus and always felt like it was going to fry itself one day (which it did). I believe this charger is going to last me a long time. When I say this charger is hardly hot, I in a literal sense mean it, the temperature of the power supply pack is only in regards to 80 degrees. I took this temperature when it was charging my laptop for 8 hours continuously. There is no alter in temperature.

4. It's very well constructed it is built to last, it is not one of those in truth cheap chinese fictitious electronic goods. (I'm Asian just so that you don't think i'm racist of something) just attempting to relate.

5. The only con to the charger is the portion where you plug the cord into the power supply and to the wall there is something weird in regards to how it was made. This is genuinely hard to explain but try to bear with me. The cord that plugs into the wall and the power supply pack that plug-in percentage to the supply pack for a lot of reason does not let you plug the cord in all the way into the power supply because it is like the manufacturer didnt' cut the cord down all the way for you to plug it all the way in. I am presently using my old power cord for this charger which works just fine, but just pointing that out.

In conclusion, the price is very unbeatable and this will last you sometime as long as you don't throw it out a window or use it to commence a fire. The only complaint I had is the power cord strip. If there is any questions concerning what I was attempting to describe feel free to email me at [...]

My Toshiba Satellite M305-S4910 charger gave out after less than a year, I had in the first place purchased a Rocketfish RF-PRACDC Travel Laptop Power Adapter but it did not charge my laptop as it was never a snug fit to adequately charge it. I decisive to give this one a probability and it works just like the firstborn charger and has a very snug fit. Its the same size as the primary but just so you know it is a three pronged not a two prong, as my old charger. Its just a long as the older one and a bit thicker on the cord.

1My two toshibas will run on this cord, but will not charge battery!
By A. Atchley
I have two Toshiba laptops which were dissimilar models, but the power cords were interchangeable. I purchased this cord as a replacement. The price was great, but it only partially works. At original I was pleased because it seemed to work, but after sever hours of being plugged in with the new cord my laptop battery was still not charged. I thought it odd, so I rebooted and tried it again. It still did not work. I then tried in on my wife's toshiba as well and the same thing happened. It gives power to the computer, but the battery won't charge. What good it is actually if you can't charge the battery? PS- I've tried charging the laptops with the power off and it still doesn't work. You'd be better off going with a dissimilar product!

EDIT: ac adapter started smoking and case deformed from heat! This was after only one week. This could have been bad. Thankfully my wife was home and smelled the smoke- this could have without apparent effort been a fire!

The internal card requires more work in the sense that you need to repair it on the motherboard, the internal circuitry.

These cards are capable of converting the satellite TV feeds received into significant viewable TV channels. Some of these cards likewise carry other functionalities such as permitting for split frame observing of multiple channels and so on. Generally, all the cards will have to concede you to access more than 100 to 200 international TV channels.

But before you determine to buy a PCTV card, make sure your computer meets all the necessaries expected of by the card. Special attention ought to be given to the operating system of your PC, ie the OS and the processing speed. It is reasonable to suppose to fork out more than $200 for a branded card.

It efficaciously replaces the PC satellite TV card. This software may be downloaded by authorized merchants who sells goods at retail at no more than $50 per piece. Once again, you will require an internet connection. 5Couldn't be happier
By AWBoater
This little unit is a great item. I purchased it for two reasons, first, it is plug-n-play, and second, it offers ala-carte selections.

What is ala-carte? For a for less on a monthly basis satellite bill, you may select up to 50 channels (minus the premium channels). I went for it, and actually was struggling to find 50 channels I liked. Other channels such as Margaritaville are indicated as premium, so they are a little add on cost. But all in all, suppose to pay from 60% to 75% for the ala-carte cost than the full package.

Admittedly the ala-carte price has risen over the years, but it is still for less than the full package.

I use this unit in 4 locations; which required the buy of a couple of docking stations.

My boat. I have an Alpine iDA-x100 head unit with a compatible satellite interface so I may use this unit on the boat. Since the Starmate 5 is controlled by the head unit, the logical choice was to mount it inside a hanging locker in the rear cabin so it was out of the way. The unit hangs on the locker's wall; safe and secure. And the unit is locked onto the docking station. Depressing the docking station release, and the unit pops off.

My car. I also have a docking station in the car, so it may be plugged into the car's stereo system. You genuinely need an upgraded stereo scheme for this, as an FM modulator is not a good substitute - no matter of whether you are attempting to listen to an iPod, satellite receiver, or any other audio device. The idea is that the FM modulator will play through an unused FM channel. But as you travel along the highway, stations come and go, which perpetually interfere with the "unused" channel.

Some FM setups are competent of disabling the antenna for the car stereo, and that is the only solution I see as working. However, even if such as setup is used, the audio quality is suspect. Therefore, I would commend a "proper" configuration, meaning low level RCA inputs. This may mean replacing your stereo, or buying a 3rd party adapter designed for your factory radio.

Ironically, I already have a factory XM satellite receiver in my car, which I applied for awhile. But for billing purposes, Sirius and XM are still considered distinguished companies, so you do not get a multi-unit discount if you have one Sirius and one XM unit.

And I have found that the car's XM receiver, due to the geosynchronous satellite orbits, is prone to dropouts when you do not have a clear sky, such as driving behind a hill, in a city with nearby huge buildings, or even a tree-lined boulevard.

Consequently, Sirius uses 3 polar orbiting satellites, and one of them is always in the neighborhood, which results in less dropouts. You may still get a dropout or two with a Sirius system, for instance you are downtown with high buildings, you may lose signal. But it is much less of a problem than XM as one of the satellites is in general at a higher overhead angle.

Perhaps the most difficult decision in the car is where to mount the satellite unit. I use a RAM-Mount cup holder setup which works great. Since the use in the car is temporary (when the unit is not home or in the boat), I merely pop the mount in the cup holder and plug the wires in when needed. This also allows me to without apparent effort and quickly remove the system when I park the car so it is not tempting to thieves.

Fortunately, my car has a set of RCA level aux inputs - conveniently concealed in the arm rest, so I may connect the Starmate to those and the cables are not hardly noticeable. But since I remove the whole shebang when not being used, this is not an issue.

Installing the antenna and docking station in the car was not even as hard as installing a car stereo. You do need a lot of basic skills, and may need to figure out how to remove a panel or two along the way. But it is not difficult.

My home. I likewise have a home docking station that I may use the Starmate to listen to satellite at home. I even purchased the remote antenna setup to attach to my house exterior. You'll find that most houses have galore trouble with the proper reception of the signal, and the best counsel if you want a home scheme is to buy a external antenna.

All of these solutions require plug-n-play docking stations, which are likewise available from the manufacturer of the Starmate 5.

Finally, I likewise have a portable "boom-box" adapter for the Starmate 5.

The best attribute of this unit - other than the ala-carte feature - is that it is portable, and the station ID is percentage of the unit itself. And with plug-n-play, you may move the unit from docking station to docking station and have satellite in your home, car, and boat without having to remunerate for multiple receivers.

3Good and bad.....
By Onecooldad
I have been a subscriber to Sirius for rather a long time, before Howard Stern jumped aboard. I have had the same radio for that time, the Sirius Sportster replay. Recently, the lights on the radio went out, so I looked to replace it. I came throughout this radio, liked the way it looked, so I purchased it. Well, I have mixed sensations in regards to it. I use the radio in 2 vehicles, one being a work truck. The Starmate 5 works great in my car, due to the use of the Aux input on the Starmate and my car's stereo. No noise, static.. crystal clear and wonderful. The issue I have is with the FM transmitter. When in my work truck, I need to use the FM transmitter. Well, this is a problem. On my old Sportster Replay, the FM transmitter was great... had no static on the FM station. Now, with the Starmate, I listen alot of background noise and static. Transmitter is weak, to say the least. I have tried multiple FM stations and have had no luck in silencing the noise. So, if you plan on using the aux input in your car with the Starmate, it works like a dream. Just be wary of the fact that the FM transmitter is weak, and you will listen noise over the FM station.

4Way better than FM radio
By BigHill35
I have had my Sirius radio for almost 5 years now , and mind you it is the same one. I was in a car accident and the car was totaled . I pulled out my Starmate and plugged it in to my home unit and it worked fine. Listen, if you buy this unit be prepared to compensate for a subscription in which you get the full package of channels, do not buy just the discounted package or else you will become frustrated, disapponited and miss out on some outstanding programming. Oldies music, 70's , 80's old school , top 20, Elvis, Sinatra and anything else in between. The reception on the radio is almost CD quality and seldom do you loose a signal unless you drive into a garage or tunnel . Even in heavy rain and clouds commonly you have outstanding reception. I've even drove from Oklahoma to Canada and the radio did not miss a beat. There are likewise dissimilar items you may buy such as a home docking kit and boombox to have more choices in regards to where you want to listen your radio. Sirius even goes further to have online control where you may listen the stream of music over the internet wherever you have an internet connection. The fee is regarding 3 extra bucks or so a month. That means any wi-fi spot starbucks etc. I have a wireless router at home so im competent to stream the music all over the house to the laptop, ipad , or ipod with the sirius app you may get for free. I take it to the garage , bedroom etc.. The only con I have is that they have not actually gone down on the price of the Starmate so will not going to buy another till the one I have breaks and merely does not work anymore. So make the best of your sirius radio, talk to others and see how they set up theirs. The choices on how you may listen are endless.

4works but don't suppose miracles
By C. D. Hardison
Bought a TV Ears and ran into that it wouldn't work with my LCD TV. So found the Clarity after substantial search. The descriptions sounded so good I got one for myself, and one for my father-in-law. We both have the hearing loss problem best characterized by being unable to grasp the words even when the volume is up. The tone controls on this unit support a little, but it's still a problem with clarity. If you're looking for the clarity of a digital phone, my "Clarity" doesn't provide it. If you want a unit that lets you turn up the sound in your ears without blasting the family with volume increase at the TV set, this is a winner. And yes, this one works with LCD big screens!

By The Butcher
I got this for my Father for when he comes over. He employed to come over to stay with us which was great until we had to watch TV. We thought we were at a rock concert. He has a similar head set at home but I wasn't impressed. Worked ok but never in truth got the sound of the head set to work for when you turned it up the sound was distorted so was looking for a better quality head set and found it.

5Clarity C120 Professional Wireless TV Amplifier
By Eric Sandbagger
Using this unit, I need not raise the volume of LCD HDTV set to remunerate for the slight loss of my high-frequency hearing abilities. It worked fine for when it comes to 4 months, then all of a sudden stopped working. Every time I put on the headset, it worked for a few seconds and then quit. I almost gave up using this product, but a careful re-reading of the (well-written) User Guide led to the solution of my problem.

5small but works GREAT!
By D. Evans
This is our second Winegard MP-1 dish (my brother-in-law just had to have our 1st one!)

To say this works well, is an understatement - it is fabulously easy to setup and align, decent fade margin underneath most conditions, and never gives us the slightest disturb - then, it is fabulously little and the package is utterly designed for storage (everything, including cables, (even 50' extra) sat alignment meters, sighting compass, (yes I recognise it comes with one, but I prefer my Suunto sighting compass) and a good deal of various connectors)

When the automatic dish on our RV is blocked, this is a perfective work around (or it could be your ONLY dish for that matter)

There genuinely are no negatives for this little manual dish - If I have to come up with one, it may be a bit "twitchy" for the primary time user to set the elevation, but that's a "reach" to find something - azimuth is plainly not an issue peculiarly if you use the supplied base (but we seldom use the base) - no skew adjustment to deal with - we likewise don't use the water "weight" container, haven't necessitated it - If you do use the "weight down" container, perchance use "VERY DRY" sand in the winter

Price is VERY good in my opinion and the product plainly works!

I may hardly believe how well it works!

This is lightweight and compact, but seems genuinely sturdy. It was moderately easy to set up and works great. We use it with our RV...and even brought our cable service into my brother's TV when we visited him in the mountains.

It's true that numerous persons around the globe are addicted to some type of television format be it drama shows, sport shows, cartoons, movies or music. This is particularly unfeigned of Americans who can't seem to get sufficient television channels and are clamoring for more and more.

Now with the computer age genuinely taking off and the introduction to the Internet, it was only a matter of time before a good deal of software program like satellite TV for PC became obtainable. For the past three or so years, it has been pushing those who want more channels from the living room couch or the beds in the bedrooms to the ease of their dining/computer rooms. Many of these humans are seeing the gains behind satellite TV on PC.

One such gain to the software is how much cash you spend to get satellite TV on PC. Some humans assume the software cost too much but it actually doesn't. In fact, the software may be purchased for as little as $50. Others think it is like regular cable and satellite suppliers and that there is a regularly every month fee. Surprise! 5Incredibly Good Indoor Antenna
By A. R. Harris
Having expended a bundle acquiring a Sony LCD HDTV and upgrading our Dish service to include it is fixed set of HDTV channels, we were anxious to see what an Over-the-Air Antenna might add.

In all, we tested 5, including the highly ranked Zenith log periodic (about $40 at Sears), an amplified Samsung (about $99 at Best Buy), an outdoor Terk 32 (about $80 at Circuit City), our old roof mounted VHF/UHF antenna (circa 1985), and the amplified Terk HDTVa (about $50 at Radio Shack). The Terk HDTVa won hands down; no contest, blowing away the much touted Zenith.

We live in the sparsely populated, low hill countryside of Western Massachuetts. The THDTVa effortlessly brings in amidst 20 and 30 analogue and digital (incl hdtv) channels broadcast most from 12 to 45 miles away, and a great deal of as far as 65+ miles away in Connecticut. Some digital OTA channels genuinely come in more sharply than some of the (Dish) satellite digital channels.

This is unquestionably a keeper: a great value, gem of an antenna. So good, in fact, we are debating giving up our $50/month Dish service, putting $15 of that to Netflix to replace HBO, and banking the remaining $35.

4Works for me
By TerrierLover
I'm in SF Bay Area, with regards to 30 miles from Sutro Tower. This was my firstborn antenna and it worked out of the box for me. It is not perfective and I'm keeping among 70 and 90% signal strength on all the majors with better reception than satellite. I can't compare it to any others but to say "it doesn't work" is insane. You won't know until you try it. This is not an all or not one thing deal. It will work great for some, not at all for others and anyplace in between.

To check your specific situation, I commend you undertake www.antennaweb.org. Click button on initial page, enter your full address and you will get a report distinctive to your home with regards to how/where your channels are broadcast, including a map showing precisely how you will have to point your antenna. In my case, all my required channels were "yellow" and all in the same compass direction. If you are very far from broadcast source or channels are coming from galore dissimilar directions, it may not work. However, with good return policy, it can't hurt to try.

2Antennas Compared
By YSC
I'm a introductory timer at getting OTA HDTV. This has been an experiment in progress for the past 5 weeks. I have gone through four antennas (they are all here as I write this) before finding something that's adequate for the purpose (rather than tolerable).

I live around 25 miles from Manhattan, where the towers of most TV stations are located. I am also conscious of the directional data from [...], and have experimented hence with it is effects on reception. My apartment's windows all face north, while the signals all comes from southwest. I cannot get signals from where it comes from, and therefore necessitated to get signals from deflections perchance off nearby buildings and trees. It's a very poor circumstance for over-the-air reception, perchance just somewhat better than being underground. Signals are weak, and are affected by weather. Stormy and windy days have shown effects at disrupting signal reception.

With this said, and without going into much detail, let's talk with regards to the antennas. Now all these antenna have been tested with the same equipment, setup, directional adjustments, location, etc. etc. and have been tested through good an foul weather, day and night, to detect differences.

1.Terk HDTVa Terk HDTVa Indoor Amplified High-Definition Antenna for Off-Air HDTV Reception- After reading a lot of rave reviews and high ratings at [...], log periodic types (looks like a fishbone) seems to be the way to go. I got the Terk HDTVa first, thinking that the amplification and VHF antenna will have to nail my reception difficulties at the start. However, after more than two weeks of fidgeting around ad nauseam (directions, locations, amplifications, dissimilar devices, etc.), I only managed to pick up two ATSC channels' signals, and even those don't have strong sufficient signals to display anything. I thought possibly it's just my poor location, and that I will have to in all probability give up on the attempt. The included in-line amplifier dongle doesn't work at all. Powering it on makes no divergence in signal strength readings, which hovered around 5-10%.

It is well built, looks nice, good concepts, but it just didn't work.

2.Phlips PHDTV1 Philips PHDTV1 Digital HDTV-UHF Indoor Antenna- The venerated "silver sensor" which was antecedently sold underneath the Zenith brand likewise had outstanding ratings and reviews. It's in fact almost legendary. I decided, in desperation, to undertake it out, even if it doesn't have amplification. It seems all my local HD channels are in UHF anyway, so I won't miss the VHF dipoles.

The unit has startlingly poorer build quality equated to the Terk. It has paint bubbles, hairs and dusts trappings in the paint, sharp edged cheap plastics and much thinner metal blades that's covered in oil and has a heap of dings and bendings. I wasn't impressed with the quality, and didn't suppose much from it as I set it up.

To my surprise, it picked up 9 working channels (note: the terk got two channels' signals, but they didn't work) from the start, even if it's randomly placed. It's thrilling as it was the primary time I saw OTA HDTV. After a lot of adjustment and emplacement experiments, I was competent to receive 19 channels. However, not all of these channels work well given the same direction.

The directionally sensible antenna needs to be adjusted as I switch channels. e.g. NBC and CBS seems to work well in one direction, while ABC has it is own favored direction, which works likewise with FOX. I tried as best as possible to find a compromise point where everything works. I couldn't. It just needs to be adjusted constantly.

The transmission is ofttimes dogged by reception fluctuations. Signal quality tend to vacillate rather a bit, in particular affected by weather. That means the TV playback would get choppy at times, with it is severity dependent on the direction I point the antenna at. I didn't think vacillating signals was a characteristic until I tried the latter two antennas later. I also found that I had to constantly play with the directional positioning to get a stable signal from each of the stations.

It works, and I was impressed, but then in retrospect it could only be best described as a "tolerable" HDTV experience as I was struggling for a smooth signal delivery.

3.RCA ANT111 Basic Indoor Antenna- While buying goods in stores, I saw this basic and classic RCA loop/dipole antenna for less than $[...]. I couldn't protest the temptation to try it out, just for the heck of it. It is likewise a dissimilar type of antenna than the former two.

Again, I was surprised. This cheap antenna worked well, specially giving careful consideration to how it's only a fraction of the price of the two I'd tried. I ended up getting 17 channels, a few less than the PHDTV1, with the same emplacement and setup. Some channels likewise don't work, even if signals were detected. The quality of the signals seems to be the key.

So what's so special with regards to it? It queerly had better signal deliverance for the channels that worked. It's not as choppy, and quality level is very steady. It is also not as affected by directional positioning. I was for the firstborn time capable to view FOX, ABC, CBS, NBC without adjusting the antenna. However, the lack of directionality likewise makes it equivocal when I lost the signal. It seems that there's no "favorite direction" for the channels, which likewise means I can't pull in more inviolable signals at my choosing. It is likewise rather susceptible to weather changes, peculiarly wind (which in all probability affected signals reflected by trees?)

The signal strength likewise seems to be a little weaker, even though the signal quality tend to be higher in general. That probably contributed to the smoother video delivery. It likewise tempted me to get a similar design that has amplification.

4.Philips MANT510 Philips High Performance Amplified Indoor Uhf/ Vhf/ Fm Antenna- This unit has a "digital TV optimized, patent pending UHF panel array". I thought I'd try it out just for the somewhat dissimilar antenna design, if not just for the adaptable amplification.

Well, it works, and works rather well. The antenna doesn't work without power, and with amplification turned off it works a little less than unpowered PHDTV1 and ANT111. Yet with the amplification turned on, I get 24 channels, with strength up to 81% (compared to 3-10% unamplified, and quality systematically above 60 and normally in the 70-90%+. That generates the most dependable video deliverance of all the ones tried.

While thunderstorms still managed to distrupt signals, it's much less many times and only momentarily. I also don't have to worry with regards to hunting for signals as I just point it in one standard direction and I get everything but three NJN channels (they are even further from here.. perchance a good 50 miles).

I at last may just set the antenna and forget it. It lets me focus on the programming rather than antenna adjustment. While it needs to be powered, it gives me the selfassurance to ultimately get enjoyment from HDTV, rather than tweaking and tolerating it. It's good sufficient that I may in all likelihood stop searching. I hope it'll be helpful to you who may be going through the same purchasing decision nausea as I have.

5Elgato EyeTV HD turns your Mac into a DVR, streams to iPhone
By Louis Abate
This review taken verbatim from my tech column... Overall, great product but requires a heap of computing horsepower to genuinely shine.

Last week, Elgato declared a new TV tuner/DVR solution for the Mac. It is called the EyeTV HD and pulls 720p HD cable content right from your cable box. The device was born out of the need to get television shows and movies out of the living room and on to the multitude of gadgets humans are using to get their each and everyday fix.

After one week of using the EyeTV HD, I have come to the conclusion that for Mac users, there is no better way to move content from cable box to computer. Initial set up time is less than 15 minutes and is very straightforward. As soon as the cables are connected and software installed, the little guy may be put to work recording content to your computer's hard drive. By using an IR blaster to control the cable box, cannels may be swopped by the EyeTV software, therefore enabling scheduled recording- just like a popular DVR. The programming guide is powered by TVGuide and matched up accurately with my FiOS on-screen listings. This service is subscription based ($19.99/year) but Elgato includes one free year with hardware purchases.

Programs may be recorded manually, or by adding them to the record schedule. The EyeTV HD works just like a stand-alone DVR, but only one program may be recorded at a time. Content is stored in a proprietary EyeTV format that weighs in at regarding 5GB per hour- little hard drives need not apply. To set up a recording, all it takes is a click on the record icon located under the show listing, the EyeTV software does the rest.

Once recorded, content is converted for playback on the iPhone, iPad, or both. In addition, recordings may be exported to all the usual formats, including DivX, Windows Media, and native H.264. The converted content is also mechanically added into iTunes, finish with title, description, cast, rating, and more. This makes searching for specific shows or moves exceedingly easy and I found it to be a nice touch. Want to edit the recordings before sending them to you mobile device? That may be done within the EyeTV app as well. Users may trim out commercials and split up long recordings with a few clicks of the mouse. The procedure is very intuitive and also nondestructive, as basi recordings are held alongside the edited copies.

In addition to functioning as a DVR, the device may also stream both live and recorded programs to an iPhone using the optional EyeTV app ($4.99). My experience streaming over WiFi was flawless. Content streamed from a 2.66GHz MacBook Pro to an iPhone 3GS looked as if it were being played locally. Viewing over 3G likewise worked well, though video would oftentimes re-buffer, exceptionally in congested areas. Current 3G speeds are not in truth designed to stream high quality video, but as the more quickly networks come into use, apps like this will in truth begin to shine.

Overall, the EyeTV HD works as advertised. The video quality is high, the conversion routine works without a hitch, and the video editing is simple. One thing to keep in mind is the reality that you will need to have the HD set-top box near your computer for this all to work. Component video cables may without apparent effort be found in 10-foot lengths, but beyond that, the risk for signal quality loss comes into play. Bottom line, Mac users severe when it comes to their television will not be disappointed with Elgato's latest offering.

The good:
- TV lovers' dream come true, only fixed by the size of your hard drive
- Setup instructions are clear, takes less than 15 minutes
- Captures high quality 720p HD
- Quickly converts video to iPhone and iPad friendly formats, when it comes to 5 minutes per half-hour of video
- Editing is very easy
- Can also record from S-video and composite video with included adapter
- Ability to stream to iPhone over Wi-Fi and 3G (see beneath video for demo)

The bad:
- Core 2 Duo Mac required, very processor intensive to run
- Cable/Satellite box needs to be located near the EyeTV HD and computer
- Annual subscription to TVGuide required after introductory year, $19.99
- Decreased productivity levels resulting from 500 channels of television on computer and in pocket

4Not Too Bad.
By davey b.
Have this hooked up to an intel Mac Mini that meets the minumum cpu speed specification. I'm learning more with regards to this product and have altered this review three times. Overall very happy with the product, this will have to not be considered a negative review, altho I talk in regards to the areas I am having problems.

The product provides an splendid picture up to 1080i and de-interlaces the output realtime. I applied a higher quality factor cable than the one that came with the unit, and was capable to improve the DVR picture more or less but perceptibly. Could not find my cable box (Mediacom in California, Pace DC700X HD) listed, but was capable to snoop around and found settings designed for another set top that worked without too much effort. TVGuide had a couple of the HD channels mis-scheduled or mislabeled for my cable provider. El Gato contacted TVGuide for me and had the schedule repaired. TVGuide was slow (took over a month) but El Gato was very responsive with keeping me altered and letting me know when the guide was fixed. Meanwhile the EyeTV software had the scheduling flexibleness to work around the inconvenient annoying difficultnesses with the schedule guide once I understood them.

The remote that comes with the unit initially had a severe problem but el gato fixed it with a SW update. The supplied remote still seems to be a bit weak and highly directionally sensible at regarding 18 ft. I prefer my apple remotes that came with my computers as they work better and control the EyeTV software adequately. These are $20 from Apple. Some primary mutual functions nonetheless on Apple's remote require you to hold down a button, and if you forget you will get sent into FrontRow, Apple's bundled multimedia player software.

Overall the product is not idiot-proof, as other family members might get lost at times using the product. I found the pause, rewind and FF in live HD TV to be very smooth and useable. Programming the software to record bestloved shows or movies is very easy. Watching Live streaming TV on the IPad in the house over WiFi worked well as long as the software was not attempting to carry out other tasks at the same time. I found the streaming HD video to the ipad a bit soft and not exclusively up the the capablenesses of the ipad display. I in truth transcode all my video to H264 and then stream it the the "Air Video" app on my ipad ($2.99 from inMethod avail on iTunes). Also found that the EyeTV software is multitasking, but does not use good judgement when scheduling tasks. The software would get started tasks in the background (like exporting video for iTunes/iPod) when I was observing or streaming Live/Recorded TV, and the live/recorded video would become too jerky to watch (remember I have the slowest computer supported). One time when away for a week the system recorded a string of movies. At a specific point something went faulty and the video/audio started out skipping and the sound was not synchronized - don't recognise what caused it. This would have gotten fixed if I had been home checking on things, but once it occurred it did not self rectify and destroyed regarding 10 scheduled recordings. So the scheme needs to be monitored a bit. Some families use DVRs totally when observing live TV. I will do that comfortably with this product, but other family members will prefer direct fundamental interaction with my cable box, foregoing the gains of DVR. This is a bit of a problem, because they will end up altering the channel in the middle of a recording. Ideally if I were genuinely serious, I would get another cable box completely for DVR.

Been eyeing a mac DVR buy for years, and El Gato has now developed a product that I will buy. I have the capacity to record all 200 channels coming out of my cable box including premium HD content. I am using the product to record 1080i video, then edit the endpoints of the recording, and export to 720p for TV and iPad. It formulates a 5Mbps 720p that works on both the iPad and the TV. I move these recordings to iTunes. This routine requires rather a bit of fundamental interaction with the software and I wish it was a bit more automated. Tried a FW800 drive and EyeTV Turbo H264 to offload numerous I/O / Processing related to exports. Transcodes video quicker but does not release CPU for streaming video. Still exploring the capabilities, querks and limitations of the product, but overall very happy.

Wish List: EyeTV software must provide option to manually pause exports as well as mechanically pause all exports / edits while recording / watching / or streaming video. Exports will have to likewise pause when the EyeTV software is quit, and resume then the software is restarted. This will add the fifth star.

5Wish I got this years ago
By Malcolm Murphy
The EyeTV HD is an great little product.

I purchased the EyeTV HD after waiting in a patient manner for assorted years for DirecTV to offer their DirecTV2PC service to Mac users. After using EyeTV, I realized that I wouldn't want DirecTV2PC even if it were available. EyeTV's DVR software is far better than TiVo or DirecTV DVR, granted that's primarily because it may be controlled with a keyboard and mouse, but likewise because of further and added features like habit channel lists and modern searching.

I in the first place thought I wouldn't be capable to use the EyeTV HD as my computer was more or less slower than the product's minimum scheme requirements (2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, I have a 2.16GHz). I contacted Elgato asking if it would still work, and received a prompt response explaining that I may not be capable to use progressive deinterlacing, which is in truth the case (unless I have perfectly not one thing else running). The motion-adaptive deinterlacing works just fine, though.

My only complaint is that the only audio in is stereo RCA, and does not support digital audio. I'd likewise like to see a dual tuner model, though I'd need a new competur before then.

I was skeptical of using element video (HDMI is not possible because of copy protection). I use a Samsung P2770HD display, so I may switch among EyeTV and my DirecTV reciever (HDMI direct to display), and EyeTV in truth looks better.

This product does everything I need it to and more. Bottom line: EyeTV HD is a great product and value.

Finally found what I was looking for! The Cyber Acoustics 3 pc has AMAZING sound for the price range! When it comes to sound I'm beauteous picky. The sub-woofer is perfect. Speakers look nice. Sound is full and has volume. I'm sure if you buy a system for $150 or more it will sound better (I would hope so) ....but this is not $150 this is only $39 and would have salaried more.

5Excellent sound for the money
By islacaladesi
Before buying a new set of computer speakers, I read dozens of reviews on Amazon, Best Buy, and other sites. Overall these speakers got good reviews but the key buying point was the fact that they didn't get any negative reviews or 1 star ratings, unlike Logitech, Altec Lansing, Bose etc. The added bonus was that the speakers came with a volume wheel (allowing quick sound adjustment)and an aux. hookup on the wheel for an ipod. Auxillary jack included. I'm mainly using these speakers to watch Netflix movies (on my computer) and to listen to an ipod. Although I'm not an audiophile, I recognize good sound when I listen it--especially in this price range. Anyone looking to upgrade OEM speakers these are an magnificent choice. You won't be disappointed in the sound quality or features.

5Extremely satisfied with this user friendly product
By N. Shah
Excellent product, very easy to set up and use. Glad someone found how to make a device that will grant electronic gimmicks that may only take ethernet connectiion but are far away from a Router and running a Cat5 Cable is not an option.

I have Replay TV DVR that only takes ethernet cable to update TV Guide and due to this I was stuck with using this unit only at a emplacement where I had access to ethernet cable, I purchased the Netgear WNCE2001 and now I am competent to use my Replay TV anyplace around the house.

I likewise tried connecting this to a 24 port switch and was competent to plug in gadgets into the switch and access internet...so in essence it made my 24 port switch into a 24 port wireless switch.

5Amazing Device and Price is Right!
By urban tech guy
WOW! I purchased the Netgear Universal Wifi Internet Adapter today and I was a little hesitant because it less highpriced than other similar widgets I've seen. Once I got home I opened the package and my Mac computer was connected to my WiFi Connection at home within minutes, so simple to set up. You may do a WPS automatic Connection if your wireless router supports that feature or you may set up the device using your computer (which is how I connected my device). I powered up my device and then connected the included ethernet cable to my Mac and opened the browser. The Netgear setup screen appeared and showed all the wifi networks available near me. I chosen my network and less than a minute later I was connected. I suggest you connect the device wherever you're going to use it so you won't have to unplug and move the device like me. I purchased this adapter to connect my Samsung Blueray Player to the internet. Works perfectly, looking at Netflix Streaming Movies and Listening to Pandora with no problems. Good range with this device as well, my wireless router (Belkin) is on the second floor of my house and the Netgear Internet Adapter is in the basement, works just fine.

5Very nice!
By SkyeNoir

When we original got our PS3, I had looked and looked for something like this adapter but found nothing. (Our initial 20GB doesn't have built-in wifi). Getting the PS3 connected to the internet turned into some of a chore, at last resolving down to a mini PC with wifi providing network connectivity by way of Internet Connection Sharing underneath WinXP. Not a good setup.

On the side, I also do work on PCs and Macs. Getting them online for the latest OS updates, drives, etc was always a task that involved transporting loads of files thru USB drive and then adding a wifi dongle as needed. Not incisively ideal, but dragging an network cable around the place wasn't likeable either.

When the Netgear device came along, I was more than ready to give it a shot. Setting it up with our network info was quick and painless, just followed the onscreen instructions. Once done, I tested it with my netbook to make sure all was well. Within regarding 30 seconds, it was online and ready to go. Next came the PS3, which also accepted it without a hitch after half a minute or so. And finally, I started taking it around to respective computers and plugging it in. Not a single item balked at using it, and transfer speeds were very good.

About the only complaint I could make in regards to the unit is the time it takes to connect to your network initially. It's under a minute, but, I'm impatient. It surely takes a good deal longer than any of the other wifi enabled appliances we own. But, really, unless you're moving it around a lot, it isn't something you're likely to notice. (And you're likely to be more patient than me.)

One other thing I'd like to note is the dual power options. The unit comes with a little wallwart, but, you may power it up thru USB port. Both work evenly well, and have their benefits. The divergence is that if you use USB, the unit will power up and down with whatsoever you have it plugged into, which is when you might see the lag in connecting. If you use the wallwart, then the unit stays on all the time and you will only see the lag the fist time you use it.

It's a very nice tool to have on hand, and the price is on par with a number of the standard USB wifi adapters that can't be programmed. So far, range hasn't been an issue, but I haven't tested it extensively. I likewise haven't tried using it as an input to another wifi router, though I plan to at some point.

5One of a kind
By Mr Colin A Mackellar
Anyone who lived through the Apollo years, and who had an interest in spaceflight, will do not forget the wonder of seeing live television from space - and from the surface of the Moon. The Apollo 7 roadshow from Earth orbit, the Apollo 8 Christmas Eve telecast from lunar orbit and Apollo 11's introductory steps on the Moon captivated millions of people. The TV spectaculars continued until the last lunar landing in 1972, and for the last three missions, remotely controlled cameras made viewers feel that they were there.

5small but works GREAT!

This is our second Winegard MP-1 dish (my brother-in-law just had to have our 1st one!)

To say this works well, is an understatement - it is fabulously easy to set up and align, decent fade margin underneath most conditions, and never gives us the slightest trouble - then, it is fabulously little and the package is utterly designed for storage (everything, including cables, (even 50' extra) sat alignment meters, sighting compass, (yes I know it comes with one, but I prefer my Suunto sighting compass) and a lot of various connectors)

When the automatic dish on our RV is blocked, this is a perfective work around (or it could be your ONLY dish for that matter)

There actually are no negatives for this little manual dish - If I have to come up with one, it may be a bit "twitchy" for the firstborn time user to set the elevation, but that's a "reach" to find something - azimuth is plainly not an issue particularly if you use the supplied base (but we seldom use the base) - no skew adjustment to deal with - we likewise don't use the water "weight" container, haven't necessitated it - If you do use the "weight down" container, perchance use "VERY DRY" sand in the winter

Price is VERY good in my opinion and the product plainly works!

I may scarcely believe how well it works!

Software Watch Tv

"I wouldn't buy that package if I were you" admonished Dan. Dan has been my friend since high school but most of the time I was the outgoing one. All along Dan has been this shy, very bright geek who thrived on contraptions, gadgets, and the computer. This guy was a hacker per excellency and could generate keys for any program. He was likewise the worst coward the world has ever had.

Dan had all sorts of conspiracy theories relating to engineering science and stuff. He never did crack any scheme codes even though he could do it whenever he wanted. I at times think his too a good deal of rules restricted him to crusade into new territories.

Anyway my nerdy friend and I had been talking about this new engineering of observing TV on a pc. I had come to him beaming with glee that I had found an internet TV service that I could nearly watch TV from all over the world. As I narrated my invention to him, he gave me this contemptuous-you-belong-to-the ice-age-look.

I asked him why he didn't look any astonished and he casually said. "Welcome to the 21st century, this engineering came out six months ago". I hate it when he gives me that sympathetic I'm-sorry-its-not-your-fault look. I always thought he was the one who necessitated that look with his skinny, unkempt, thick-framed-glasses and funny head. Not me. The fact was that this guy is miles in front of me in intelligence and oftentimes pitied my ignorance of ...well, closely in regards to everything there is to be learnt.

Anyway, Dan took one look at the software being offered online and frowned at me with a look like he had just seen a dinosaur from the Jurassic era. This is when he told me the whole shebang regarding free live TV software. And boy, did I learn a lot?

Firstly he said that two thirds of all those hundreds of softwares found online are fake. Only afew of them had been time tested and proved to be reliable, had good quality pictures and sound and were cheaper. Next we sat down for an hour and in truth downloaded various of them. Every online TV streaming software we tried could not work or had crappy TV stations which I don't believe any person wastes their time watching.

It was unbelievable how effortlessly you may loose your shirt online if you depended on the flashy internet sites merchandising bogus online TV live software.

Next we did a run a few of the good ones. When I say few, I mean less than 3 legit online web softwares with American and Spanish online channels. I distinctively liked one of the 3 streaming TV software more as it had over 3000 channels and for the most part from North America. The software was from a company called Satellite to PC and their package PC 2007 Elite edition.

The software that even the skeptic Dan liked likewise came at only a cost of $49.95 for a life time membership. This included free annual upgrades and over 1000 online radio streams. We downloaded a copy of this software and it only took us 3 minutes from download to watching online TV.

I have since been looking at free online TV soccer and competent to get free American internet TV access channels.

Is satellite TV for PC genuinely a scam? Some persons think that it is. There are respective reasons why a heap of people may think so. One of the biggest reasons is that numerous persons just do not grasp how Satellite TV for PC works. They don't know in regards to free-to-air satellite TV channels, promotion revenues and video streaming over the internet. If you grasp these conceptions you'll be capable to understand why most satellite TV channels are available for free over the internet.

Here are a good deal of reasons humans give when you ask them why they think satellite TV on PC is a scam:

1. Some people think it's too good to be true because there are no subscription fees or any per month fees.

The truth is that there are a good deal of satellite TV channels that do not charge subscription fees. They get cash from their advertisers. Then there's community TV, national TV and galore other types of satellite TV channels that are sponsored in one form or another. Satellite TV software gets all the TV streams from the internet and organises the channels so that you may be capable to watch them. It's similar to what the other satellite TV companies do. They don't provide the programming but provide you the means through which you may access the respective TV channels from providers.

2. Some people say it's illegal and so it's a scam.

Satellite TV for PC is not illegal. If you visit the internet sites of galore TV channels, you'll find that you'll be capable to watch their TV programs from their internet site for free. These programs are streamed to your PC over the internet so that you may access them through a media player like windows media or the real player. Satellite TV for PC makes it possible to access all these respective TV streams from nay dissimilar providers. Millions of persons are using satellite TV on PC software. If it was illegal a lot of of the web sites providing these types of software would have been shut down by now.

3. Some people think Satellite TV for PC is a scam because they think it's totally unlikely to watch satellite TV channels on your PC.

If you want to prove how faulty these humans are, just go to Youtube.com or any video streaming internet site and you'll amazed at what you may watch on your PC. Many TV channels regularly stream high quality TV programming over the internet so that their viewers may watch TV programs for free online. Satellite TV for PC picks up streamed satellite TV channels from around the internet and allows you to watch these channels on your PC.

4. Some people think it's a scam because they are confused with regards to satellite TV for PC software and TV tuner cards (or PCTV cards).

These two are different. Satellite TV for PC software does not require any further and added instrumentation such as aerials and satellite dishes. PC TV cards and TV tuner cards require TV aerials and other equipment. Do not buy a TV tuner card and suppose it to work like Satellite TV for PC software. The two are different.

As you may see from the above, satellite TV for PC software is not a scam. There are a lot of persons who are using this type of software to access thousands of satellite TV channels on their computers and laptops.

Satellite TV software gets all the TV streams from the internet and organises the channels so that you may be competent to watch them. It's similar to what the other satellite TV companies do. They don't provide the programming but provide you the means through which you may access the respective TV channels from providers.

2. Some humans say it's illegal and so it's a scam.

Satellite TV for PC is not illegal. If you visit the websites of a lot of TV channels, you'll find that you'll be competent to watch their TV programs from their internet site for free. These programs are streamed to your PC over the internet so that you may access them through a media player like windows media or the real player. Satellite TV for PC makes it possible to access all these respective TV streams from nay dissimilar providers. Millions of people are using satellite TV on PC software. If it was illegal a good deal of of the internet sites supplying these types of software would have been shut down by now.

3. Some humans think Satellite TV for PC is a scam because they think it's inconceivable to watch satellite TV channels on your PC.

If you want to prove how faulty these persons are, just go to Youtube.com or any video streaming internetsite and you'll amazed at what you may watch on your PC. Many TV channels regularly stream high quality TV programming over the internet so that their viewers may watch TV programs for free online. Satellite TV for PC picks up streamed satellite TV channels from around the internet and allows you to watch these channels on your PC.

4. Some people think it's a scam because they are confused when it comes to satellite TV for PC software and TV tuner cards (or PCTV cards).

There are galore people who are using this type of software to access thousands of satellite TV channels on their computers and laptops.

5Really distinguishable version of the classic Spider-Man.
By Thomas Anderson
I purchased this DVD blind just because I wanted to see it and I've been getting into animation not long back in my DVD collecting. Let me tell ya folks, this is a great series...for assorted reasons.

1) The CG animation, altho a bit awkward at times with "regular" humane motion and such, it actually shines for the duration of the Spidey and villian "battles". Just the fact that the animation is all in 3D (put with a 2D look), allows the camera to do galore actually interesting things, from pans, to spins, to rotations, and fly-thrus, and of course, the ultra-cool slo-mo effects. This kind of camera control is something that just isn't possible in a traditionally hand-drawn cartoon.

2) The action sequences in general. This isn't your grandfather's Spider-Man. Much like Mainframe Entertainment's other CG shows, the action is much more mature than your general animated show. By that I mean the fight scenes and the "chases" are much more intense and, shall I say, violent than anything else I've seen in a cartoon such as this. In fact, there's genuinely moments of blood from both Spidey and his enemies. And as numerous of you may know, blood is closely always a "no-no" for childrens' animated shows. So just with that, the viewer may without apparent effort tell that this show was made for a much more mature audience, which is always good in this circumstance, specially for comic book heroes.

3) The audio and video presentation. The video is staged in 1.78 anamorphic widescreen and is exceedingly sharp. Even looks good on a computer thru DVD-ROM drive. And the soundtrack is recorded in both DTS and DD 5.1 (always a plus for any show, eh?) Also the widescreen formally presenting something gives the show a bit of a epic cinematic feel to it. How a good deal of cartoons do you recognise that were invented in widescreen?

4) The villians. The villians, a great deal of classic (with new looks), others new, were all great with possibly the exception of one, but that's to one's taste. I thought the Terradax group were awesome. Their suits and weapons were just too cool. And again, the maturity of the dialog for the villians and activenesses are just what makes these villians great.

So with all that said, let's all hope that this series gets picked up by numerous outlet for another season or more. I'd love to see what the creators could do with the Venon and Carnage saga. Hell, even Doc Oc, Green Goblin, and Hobgoblin would be great. But may we get Parker out of college? Being almost 10 years out myself, I despise the college atmosphere anymore. Too galore crazy activists and party animals.

5Spider-man the animated Series...REVAMPED!!!!
By A
One Word...AWESOME!!! I was a bit skeptical at first, it being on MTV and all, but I was impressed. I've been a huge fan of spider-man since I was like 4 or 5, and I got to see all the reruns of Spider-man and His awful Friends(ok, it was just ok...), and the original 1968 series.

When they came out with the SPIDER-MAN THE ANIMATED SERIES show, I was excessively affected emotionally with the premiere episode in December with the Lizard. Then Feb 4th of 1994 I was pumped. The show ended on a clif hanger. The that horrid show, SPIDER-MAN UNLIMITED came on...Oh, the animation was ok, but the plots, the characters, Venom and Carnage in general, were HORRIBLE!!!, thank goodness it only lasted like 41-43 episodes. I watched it, but I was kinda freaked out by all that went on in it, being like Marvel didn't even have a hand in the series...

It's been a few years since it ended, and after the Spidey movie came out, I couldn't wait for something else to come out...then, this past Summer, SPIDER-MAN came out on MTV(the horror something like that on MTV, but I dealt with it...)...MAN THIS SERIES ROCKED!!!, I mean it was GREAT!!!...by the time the series ended, at the end of September, early October, I was like, WHAT, THAT'S IT?!...I was bummed out, and then like a week or so later, I looked up what would become of it, and lo, and behold, IT'S COMING OUT ON DVD!!!! I can't wait to get it on DVD!!!.

This series is gonna be great when they get the second season rolling. I exhaustively enjoyed the firstborn season, and the animation was a bit wierd at first, but I got applied to it in like 3-5 minutes, the cell shading is great, I like that it's like observing video game-type graphics, and the stories are great...I MEAN, WITH THE GREAT BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS WRITING THIS, HOW CAN IT BE BAD!!!?!?!? He is a outstanding writer, being his older series and his newer work in the new ULTIMATE UNIVERSE...I think this series is actually gonna stick this time, with an actual Spider-man Comic book writer writing it, rather of someone just pulling stuff from the comics, or just out of thin air. That's why I think Spider-man 2 the movie is gonna be better than the first(well, how much better do you want it other than organic web fluid, but hey, beggars can't be choosers...)...J. Michael Straczynski lending a hand with the movie, I think it'll be so much closer to the comics than ever before, which for numerous people, might be bad, but for me, I'll be a happy person...lol

So, Kudos to this DVD, I'll be waiting for with baited breath for it's arrival...and until Batman runs off with Wonder Woman, Make Mine Marvel!!!

3not actually for kids
By A. Richards
The series is agreeably diverting for adults, however, you may not want to buy
this for kids. I purchased it for my 9 yr old son. The story lines and animation
are good... but... a large total of sexual innuendo. And a great deal of curse words. Why the
cursing is in there is beyond me. must be an MTV thing. but it ruins
the show for wide viewing. The sexual significances are also unnecessary but added in to entice hormone-overdosed kids.

Watch Directv On Your Computer

by on May.26, 2011, under Uncategorized

It must not come as a surprise to those mesmerized to watch satellite TV on computers that there are already millions doing so. Billions of video streams are watched each single day and people are getting employed to observing amusement media using their PCs online. Basically, the easiest way around it is to power up your computer with a special satellite TV software. We will find out more in this article regarding this distinctive software that may enable you to watch satellite TV on computer through the internet and how it compares with the services you are using today.

The software may be downloaded from merchants who sells goods at retail online and installed quickly. There are clear instruction manuals that take you through a step-by-step approach. Even the most technically challenged may install software in a few steps. The usage is simple since the navigation is user-friendly. Once you are done with the installation, you may without any delay check out the TV channels they offer and find the desired TV program you may watch.

If you have been a satellite TV subscriber for the longest time, you would be glad that there are no regularly every month costs involved at all. The only cost ever is the one time payment for the software which works out to less than $50 for most software versions and brands. When new programs are added, you also need not top up or compensate anything extra. These are all included in the software package.

Since the software is receiving free to air TV feeds from FTA TV stations, the TV channels you may watch on computer are wholly free. A quick comparison among satellite and cable TV versus PC satellite TV would disclose that you are catching perhaps 700 channels at max with the on a monthly basis services but getting access to over 2000 TV channels with the software. This is the one main reason why people love to use the PC satellite TV software.

Other than the software, you do not need extra instrumentation or hardware, just a good internet connection will do, be it broadband or dial up. Ideally, you must use broadband for more quickly speeds of TV feed transmission. You also need to have Macromedia Flash and Windows Media Player installed before you may watch satellite TV on computer.

The software has an intellectual user interface that makes it a breeze to use to search and find TV shows to watch. Once you watched it, click to save the TV channel so that you may come back another day to watch. The whole routine is as hassle-free as it may get.

Looking at the software side by side with on a monthly basis TV services, it outshines services in terms of affordability, the number of TV channels available and the userability. This in all likelihood is the reason why more TV viewers, in particular the younger folks now watch TV in this way. Learn more with regards to this new engineering and how you may make use of PC satellite TV software to watch satellite TV on computer at home from my TV blog.

5Ok... Wow
By L. Russo

I've been using Media Center on a WinXP tower since 2004. My HP unit came with a built in tuner which could only receive analog channels and the 2004 version of MC that came with it only supported ordinary def TV. As the years passed, I was eagerly anticipating for a release of Media center that supported HD programming. Once that happened on Windows 7 (and perhaps Vista), I necessitated to find a tuner card that would work with it.

Over the years I would check release info on new productions and read when it comes to one sad experience after another when it comes to the failure of available HD tuner cards on the market and issues in regards to firmware, drivers, configuration settings, etc.

Knowing that most new engineering needs a few years to get the bugs out, I didn't buy and waited. The last few months had me itching to undertake and in the end set up a HTPC (Home Theater PC) system. When it comes to video quality, my assumption was that I'd get better performance from a PCI internal tuner card in a tower. Thing is, I don't have a new Windows tower but I do have an inexpensive netbook running Windows 7 Home Premium. As there's no way to install an internal tuner card I'm fixed to using an external USB tuner. After reading the reviews on Amazon, I decisive the Volar Max was my best bet (and at $55 I figured I could only go so wrong).

I do not forget going through error and configuration issues with Vista and XP in the past, the idea that this little flashdrive-sized gizmo was going to concede me to tune in analog channels, digital channels as well as actual hi res HD seemed suspect at the very least. I was dreading the thought of experiencing the standard whole night investment of getting a new peripheral up and running on Windows only to have it not work well.

I plugged the Avertv in the USB slot and it found & installed it is driver mechanically and quickly. It then gave me the option of installing it's own tuner/viewer software. I declined in favor of Media Center.

Now I can't say how this thing works with any other OS's but, with Windows 7 Home Premium, the Avertv Volar Max blew my mind. My laptop is connected to an LCDTV- I fired up Media Center, which found the Avertv right away. I chosen it, went through the channel scan (like any tv) and was looking at outstanding quality analog & digital HD tv within minutes. It WORKED! And not only that, it worked without my having to do any manual installations or configurations. Windows media center rocks (and IMHO blows away Apple in this queer area). The picture and sound seems as good as any HDTV tuner I've seen built into HD televisions. I hooked up my HP Media Center IR remote and may now flip through channels, set DVR recordings, play music, etc. from my couch.

Maybe this shows my age, but I thought any kind of decent solution tuner hardware necessitated to be comparatively big in size. That this tiny unit does so much, so well and so without apparent effort is immensely impressive.

The age of HTPC's is unquestionably here.

5Great device for Windows 7!
By K. Tryon
I purchased this as a 2nd TV tuner for my Win7 media center computer, because galore TV shows I watch steadily have time conflicts. And I wanted a tuner that could receive ClearQAM channels, which my built-in tuner doesn't do. This was perfect. I purchased an Avermedia tuner for my parent's computer and they've been very happy with it, so I chose this over a lot of other brands.

The install with Win7 was gorgeous effortless. Plug into a USB port, plug my TV cable into it, and Win7 installed the driver (no software comes with it, and it's not needed). I opened Windows Media Center, it saw the 2nd tuner, I set up my channel guide listings, and now I may record 2 shows at the same time, with one of them in hi-def. It's fantastic. I seldom watch a TV show when it's actually on, and have gotten applied to shows recorded in SD...it's such a treat to watch things in HD now!

I was a little irritated when I saw the recent price drop, but dug around and found that a rebate was available if you look on the list of sellers, and go down to Amazon.com being the seller. So now I'm only a buck behind. Now I'm very happy with the price, the product, and the ease of the install!

5Awesome, may buy another
By Techno Wizard
I purchased this product expecting it to be something I would use to keep away from arguments over the TV. I figured the picture would be just OK. I was wrong. I don't even bother with the television anymore. I have 2 displays on my PC, so I may watch TV on one while doing stuff on the other. I may record shows when I'm away or too busy with life. It's great. The quality of the picture is incredible. I think I'm going to buy another, so I may have true DVR functionality on my PC! When it arrived all I had to do was attach the cable feed and plug it into a USB port. Windows 7 installed the drivers and when I opened media center, media center walked me through the rest. media center took regarding 15 minutes to scan through all the stations I get and setup, but then it was done (and that includes downloading a 2 week program guide for my cable provider.) I was actually impressed, even amazed at the simplicity and quality of this product. Highly recommended!

So you want Satellite TV for PC but don't recognise what to do? There are a good deal of dissimilar Satellite TV for PC services out there and as luck would have it there are reviews on the net that help you choose which one to go with. I will talk about some things you ought to consider when deciding.

So why will have to I go with Satellite TV for PC?

Well it is very commodious to be capable to sit down at your computer, do work, while watching in a literal sense whatsoever station in the world you want to watch. Say there is a Laker's game on at 6. Search in the box for the local channel and there you have it. So i'd have to say a big reason to go with Satellite TV for PC would be it is convenience.

Price is another cool percentage regarding having satellite for PC. The services run a one time fee as opposed to the real satellite service suppliers that charge you now and again 40 dollars a month.

Watching on your PC is the simplest way to watch television. All you have to have is an internet connection and basic computer noesis such as how to open an application (I recognise - rocket science right?).

When you have Satellite TV for PC you not only have vantages over usual cable television but also over frequent Satellite Television. Image you are in a nasty thunderstorm. Chances are your internet will be working most the time and your satellite will be working hardly ever. So I see this as the way of the future.
